Course Curriculum Overview

Well the course curriculum is outdated. Although it has nothing to do with the college. All the colleges under WBUT(MAKAUT) follow the same curriculum and its useless. ECE students are taught Chemistry,Mechanics,Physics,Maths in first and 2nd year which i have no idea why.

Internships Opportunities

No, this college does not provide internships. Its up to you to find out internships on your own. Once you find one, you have to get a No Objection Certificate from your department HOD and you can carry on with your Internship.

Placement Experience

Not that good. Mostly software companies come for recruitment. So if you are looking for a chance in core companies rather than CSE and IT, i suggest you skip this college and move on to other options.Fun part is that our college has a mass recruiter , TCS. So basically they recruit everyone even if you are from mechanical or civil or biomedical engineering.

College Events

Our college has two main events apart from sports. Apart from sports coz not everyone takes part in it and normal classes goes on for those who do not take part. The main two are, Tech Fest (i.e Avenir) and Cultural Fest (i.e Mesmerizer). Now in these two you will have unlimited fun. Classes are suspended in these two fests. You can hang out and do whatever you feel like in these two events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its pretty feasible.Although i dont remember the exact amount that i had to pay, i can assure you that in accordance to other engineering colleges, the fee structure of Netaji Subhash Engineering College is pretty less.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know of this but according to what i hear from my friends, loan facilities offered here are quite good.Netaji Subhash Engineering College do not provide with any scholarship but if you travel by train , they give you a concession for your train ticket.

Campus Life

See extracurricular depends on each one of you. Although our college has an official tech club called Phoenix which is divided into 4 wings. Photography,Music,Robotics,Coding. So if you are interested in any of the above, you are in for a treat. You will be flooded with Extracurricular activities once you join the club.

Hostel Facilities

This college does'nt have a Hostel. So if you are joining this college from a far place you will get plenty of PG and Mess to stay. College has wifi which mostly doesn't work. Lab equipments are not that good. Most of them are faulty. You can only see a perfectly working intrument during your exams.

External Expense: More Than Rs.15000

Alumni/Alumna

Keeping a good relation with the seniors is upto you. If you are an introvert and you dont mix with the seniors, no body will come up and help you on their own. To get help from them,you need to mix with them,build up a good relation and the rest will take care of its own.

Exam Structure

There are unit tests and viva for each semester. Three unit test per semester and from that best of three is taken. Apart from these the semester exam is of 70 marks. Question paper is divided into three sections ( A,B and C).

Admission

For getting admission in this college i had to sit for the Joint Entrance examinations(i.e WBJEE and AIEEE). Once you get the required score you can apply for this college in your counseling sessions. After your counseling sessions you have to go to the college for your fees deposit of first semester and other submit other certain documents.

Faculty

The faculties of IT and CSE are very good. Mechanical faculty is also good. I have no idea about electrical and civil faculties but ECE faculty is not good. There are only a few teachers with the proper knowledge to teach us.

The everyday journey

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Dislikes

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I
In our department ac doesn’t work properly

Nothing specific just the campus attracted me Curriculum is preparing me for the real world approach and its doing good enough the academic pursuits is good Teachers should teach in a good way so that every student should understand Frequently the timing of exam is 3 hrs but sometimes it takes 1 hrs

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is good.I would consider the college as very clean.
The campus life is pretty good but there are strict instructions to freshers to not roam in the campus.

Dislikes

I disliked the condition of the bathroom and the corridor on the first day.
My hostel room was very filthy.The workers charges ₹100 for cleaning it

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students become eligible for placements.Google, Microsoft,Gold Man Sacks, Apple were some of the companies that visited NIT Durgapur For placement regard.The highest package was 80lpa and the average package was 13 lpa.Total of 83% students got placed.The placement is quite good.

Likes

The faculty are well taught and the campus is very beautiful . The buildings are like newly bulid . and the campus is very clean.
In our branch the boys and girls ratio is almost 16:11.
The senior behave like a friend and they help us a lot and they also very supportive.

Dislikes

The college campus is too small compare to other colleges.
The college classes are not regularly held and the attendance system is not very good.
The classes are very boing and sometime it feels like aa school and the labs are not held timely.

Placement Experience:

our college average package is 600000 per Anum and highest package is 1800000 per Anum according to recent data. and 80% of student got placed . And wipro , windows, tcs , siemens , tata like companies come to our college for placement. Core students are also got placed but many of them goes for hihger studies.

Likes

One of the best things about my college is all the classrooms and labs are fully air conditioned. The classrooms, labs and even the toilets are cleaned regularly, which really helps to create a comfortable learning environment.
All the clubs of the college remain active all the time no matter whether it's technical clubs or fest related clubs like fun events domain, etc.
The most important thing is that the college is entirely ragging -free. College also maintains a healthy girls to boys ratio.

Dislikes

The classrooms are quite compact compared to the number of students in each class . At times it feels overcrowded and a bit uncomfortable during lectures.
Some of the faculty members are relatively inexperienced. It often feels like they don't have full command over the subject they're teaching, which can affect the overall understanding of important concepts.
Another issue I've noticed is the irregularity in certain subject classes. Not all subjects are taught consistently every semester , and there are high chances of some classes getting missed or not scheduled properly.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible to sit for placements form 7 th semester that is from the beginning of final year. Usually the service based companies come here with cgpa criteria and offer jobs to students.

Likes

They provide you with various oppertunities like exposure visits, seminar , worshops, etc.

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

My experience about techno

Likes

Ragging free campus. Strict action are taken against those who found guilty.
Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

Experienced Faculty-students often appreciate a good blend of practical and theoretical knowledge.Faculty members in some department are often known for thier excelence knowledge and experience
Excelent Campus-techno india university has a large campus with excelent facilities such as libraries,labs,seminar halls etc. Some students finds this facilitries useful
Funs and Events-techno india university provides a vibrant campus life with events that span a wide range of interests

Dislikes

Time Management-the one thing that I disliked was their time management.They dont provide a proper shedule for exams,routines etc
Teaching Methods-some students feels that cirtain teaching methods(like a focus on lecture without without interactive learning or industry exposure) must be improved
Placement-techno india university does prepares thier students for placement they only give them the opportunity

Placement Experience:

Elegibility for placement-Generally students become elligible for campus placement in their 7th semester or 8th semester and there might be some prerequisties such as minimum CGPA must be 6-7 with no bachlogs Internship and pre-placement offers-many companies offer internships during the 6th semester or 7th semester and successful interns may receive pre-placement offers if their performance is good. Companies that visits campus: TCS Accenture Cognizent Infosys Wipro Capgemini Deloite Byjus Tech Mahindra Placement Percentage-On average 80%-90% of students may secure jobs through campus placements.However this numbers could vary across different departments and specialization Highest and average package-The highest salary offered at Techno India University was 24 LPA and the average salary was 4-5 LPA. Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

The college campus is very big and beautiful.
The cultural fests and annual fest is also great.
The ganga ghat is really close from the college.

Dislikes

The faculty is bullshit .some profs are ok,but some are horrible.
The college hostels accommodation is really bad
The ratio of girls to boys is very poor.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is okay and companies like google, Microsoft, Capgemini ,Tata,Mahindra also comes during placement.The off campus placement record is also fantastic.The were scenarios in the past years where few students got packages like 50-70 lpa.

Things you should know before taking admission in NSEC

Others college which i got confirmed is RIT /quantum and haridwar university but i didn't go there because it was very far from my hometown and placement wasn't that much good as compared to my current college. I have given the west bengal joint entrance exam(wbjee) and through it the nsec college was allotted to me through counselling process. When the result declared, you have to apply for counselling and put your choice of colleges with rank. Every round you will be allotted college according to your result rank. Passing out in 2025, have seen a old place in 2021, to a new college in 2025, rennovated

I had a senior in my locality, 2019 passout, following whom I joined NSEC. I still admire and thank him for guiding me while joining NSEC. While admission I didint face any kind of interview. I had got a rank in WBJEE, and during the first counselling round, I selected NSEC, got NSEC, and finalized it by paying the first semester fees. I wasnt rejected by any college, as I went ahead with my first option. The counselling round at college isnt anything special, just a question whether or not we would be able to bear the college fees, as all comes down to money.
