Course Curriculum Overview

4

I joined this college in base module which is 12th equivalent and the reason why i liked is we are made to made to choose our department right at the time of admission which gives us the exposure to the basics of our course even before we start our btech while completing our 12th equivalent. The course structure is always updated to meet the industry requirements and hence the students of nerist have hands on experience with all types of recent technologies. The only thing that could be better would be if they could focus more on the practical part rather than the theoretical one.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship opportunity is given to btech students after 6th semester. I secured an internship in Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre under the department of Atomic Energy of Government of India. Since institute like this don't offer any stipend, so it was unpaid. It was an 1 month internship.

Placement Experience

2

The campus scenario is improving day by day but it is not still upto the mark. Many companies come for hiring but most of which offer only average package of 4LPA which is very less compared to other colleges. Highest package ranges from 8-10 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

For first semester the fee for day scholars is 21,990 approx ane for hosteller is 34890 which includes mess fee. For certain categories like SC/ ST/ PwD there is some concession in the fee structure. From second semester onwards the tuition fee is. 7750 approx and hostel fee is 16000 approx. These structure is for the for the base module and degree module of the Engineering courses. I availed a scholarship called Pragati scholarship provided to certain female students of the AICTE approved institute. The total ammount is. 50,000 yearly. The requirements is based on the monthly income of the family is restrained to only two female students applicantions per family.

Campus Life

3

There are many clubs in the college including the hobby club , sports club, etc. focusing on the overall growth of the students. There are three fests conducted in the campus every year. Racaf which is the cultural fest in which the students from college ahowcase their talents in dance , music , drama etc. The other one is the synergy which is the sports event. Several sports including indoor and outdoor games are conducted. The third is the Shrishti which is the technical fest. Every departMent organizes various events to test the technical knowledge of the students. The library we have is a central library and hence we have access to many books which covera the entire course structure.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facility is provided to all the students coming to the campus from far away. The hostel rooms are decent and the mess menu is also curated to ensure good facilities to the students. But the quality of the food is quite average. The total fee include the accommodation and mess fee of around 16,000 approx. per semester.

Admission

As i have taken admissions right after my 10th , i didn't consider choosing any other college. When i look back i think that i made a good decision because i got the exposure to my discipline i.e. ECE right in my 12th equivalent. The exams to enter nerist are of different types. For engineering courses there are three entry exam. NEE 1 after 10th, NEE 2 after 12th and NEE 3 after diploma. One can enter nerist after 12 th with JEE as well. For other courses like forestry, management separate exams are conducted.

Faculty

4

The faculty members of each department is very experienced and helpful. The teaching method is also very good. They are very approachable. In every courses there is one mid semester and one end semester per semester. The midsem carries 30% of the weightage and endsem carries 50% of the weightage. The rest of the 20% is internals decided by quizzes and assignments. For courses having practical 25% weightage is given to the practical and 75% is given to theory.

Interview Experience

3

The Admission process is simple for the engineering students. We just need to appear in the entrance exams according to which we are selected but for courses like MBA there is group discussion as well as personal interviews.

Night Life

2

The timing for the girls hostel is 7pm for the undergraduates and 9pm for the postgraduates. There is a library providing individuals and group sittings to enaure overall growth of the students. There is a gym but only male stiffened are allowed in that gym. Though a gym is present inside the girls hostel but the equipment here are limited .

The course curriculum was good. But it should be better by including more practical and site visits for better learning. The exams were not that much difficult you can pass easily. Exam frequency was also good

The Electrical Engineering course curriculum is quite comprehensive, covering key areas like circuit analysis, electronics, and power systems, which has well-prepared me for real-world applications, although incorporating more hands-on projects and industry insights could further enhance its relevance.

The students of mechanical engineering had a higher percentage of jobs as compared to other branches. I will do M.Tech after my B.Tech.
