My journey in NERIST

The course itself is very helpful coupled with various field visit and experiments. It is one of the most enjoyable course in the college. The faculties and the students have very close relationship in which the faculties help the students a lot.

As forestry students we did our internship in mostly national parks and bamboo resources where we learned many skills and how to make many products. We were able to tackle challenges and also learned about handling guns and weapons.

Students become eligible for placement in the final year final semester. Different companies come for placement and also number of offers. Among which a package upto 12lakhs being the highest among the placement offers. Out of 10 students approximately 6 students get selected which is a very good number. I have already graduated from this college and I am planning for further studies.

Admission costed around 10k and 17k for hostel in the first year and after that 5k per semester for admission and 14-15k for hostel.everyone gets hostel since it is a residential college. Placements are held at the end of your course along with internship.

The college conducts a variety of fests out of which freshers meet is the first one in which the mr and miss is selected and after that one of the famous fest in the college is racaf in which students display variety of talent through every walk of life. In this college sports is considered very important. The college is run by the student union of NERIST also called Sun

The hostels are divided into many blocks in which all the blocks have different mess. The hostel food is served with cleanliness and you can get both veg and non veg foods according to your preference. Once you get admission you can confirm your hostel allotment in your ERP.

I got colleges in ICAR too but I chose this college because of the easy transportation and the environment of the college which is the best. Greenery fills the college coupled with flowers in different seasons. To get admission into this college you have to crack the entrance exam of this college which is called NERIST entrance exam.

The faculty in BSC forestry department are very approachable and very friendly who are ready to help anytime necessary. There are 2 exams per semester namely midsem and end sem. The exams are fairly hard.
