I choose this couse to take atleast some part in the path to safeguard, conserve and manage the forest and environment and to aware people about the value of forest . I would love to work with nature and i persue this course so that i could learn about the values of forest. Our department have optimum numbers of teachers. Faculty student ratio is 3:9. All the faculties are well qualified doctorate awardees. Their teaching methods are simple and well satisfied. They used both oral and visual (powerpoints). It helps us to understand things more clear and easy. Talking about exams, college used to provide the academic calender for a year during registration, everything scheduled there in the curiculum follows. So exams are conducted timely. If we study the notes given by teacher and study some reference books, it's not tough to pass exam.

Internships Opportunities

It provides internship opportunities in collaboration with State Forest Research Institute of Arunachal Pradesh. It provides students to acquire the knowledge of field works and how officers in field are experienced. Internship cost is covered by the government and transportation cost is provided by the college. Police training centre , Bandardewa provided facilities to improve physical toughness and details about guns. Village survey to collect data from village, questionnaire etc are organised from college side.

Placement Experience

Placement is eligible for final year students according to the cgpa prefered by the external companies or agents. Companies visited are PRADHAN, Efu-station and other companies. They provided minimum of 10-15 candidates. Highest offer is upto 16LPA and minimum is around 3.5 LPA. Average is about 5-6 LPA. Pecentage of students getting placement is about 15-20 percent. After getting the degree i will go for upsc exams for post of IFS or other exams for jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

For fee structure, forstry can be persued with the amount of 5530 per semester. Semester fee is 3030 without other fees like examination fees, medical expenses, extracurricular activities, etc. According to the facilities provided in the college, the amount is reasonable. The North Eastern Council (NEC) also provides scholarship to the students of the region for their study at Degree and higher levels. The students can also apply for various scholarships schemes available to them as per eligibility through National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The continuance of scholarship is subject to the following conditions: (i) His/her maintenance of discipline in the Institute is consistently good and he/she is regular in the classes. Unauthorized absence from the Institute/Hostel is treated as a lapse of discipline. (ii) Satisfactory progress in his/her studies. The highest salary package offered was 16 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA.

Campus Life

Cultural fest - Racaf in November , technical fest - shristi in may, general freshers meet in August , synergy in february, general farewell in may. Most if ther reference books are available in the library. Library is well maintained and provided free wifi. Classroom are wellaned, ventilated, provided with proper number of bench desk according to student, and some are fillted with projector. Sports and extracurricular activities are organised by Gymkhana. Each and every students get the chance to take part. It includes many events both for boys and girls. Events include football, basketball, cricket, football for girs, carrom, chess, tug of war and many others. Other activities like marathon, technical fest, cultural feat, blood donation camp, no plastic drives, etc also conducted. Every state have their own union as social group and for overall college, we have student union of nerist.

Hostel Facilities

Nerist provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The NERIST Nirjuli facilities include around 7 separate hostels for boys. One hostel each is kept for the PG boys. The hostels are within walking distance of the academic blocks. The boys' hostel complex has two ATMs and a couple of mini-shops; an indoor stadium, a lawn tennis court, a basketball court and outdoor badminton courts. The hostels have separate messes providing healthy food to the residents at a reasonable rate. The institute offers separate girls hostels on campus. One hostel each is kept for the PG girls. The girls' hostels are safely located inside the residential complex of the faculty members and officers. The hostels are within walking distance of the academic blocks. The girls' hostels have an outdoor badminton court, a basketball court, and a small shop. The hostels have separate mess providing healthy food to the residents at a reasonable rate. Rooms are of good size , clean, hygenic and provided with wifi

Admission

This course can be applied by those students persued science stream in higher secondary. Age Criteria for NEE 2 The maximum age limit as on July 31, 2023, is 23 years for candidates who belong to General category. The maximum age limit as on July 31, 2023, is 26 years for female candidates and candidates who belong to OBC category. The maximum age limit as on July 31, 2023, is 28 years for candidates who belong to SC/ST/PH categories.Academic Qualification for NEE 2 Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary/Class 12 or equivalent examination with Science subjects. Candidates must have secured pass marks individually in all the subjects in Class 12th. Application form can be found in neeonline. ac. in. The application fee is INR 600 for SC/ST/PD candidates and INR 1000 for General/EWS/OBC candidates. Application form will be available from January 8, 2024.The reservation criteria for NERIST NEE 2023 is divided into three different categories: All India Quota, state quota and PD quota

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement in the final year final semester. Different companies come for placement and also number of offers. Among which a package upto 12lakhs being the highest among the placement offers. Out of 10 students approximately 6 students get selected which is a very good number. I have already graduated from this college and I am planning for further studies.

Course - bsc forestry syllabus is well defined based on the new syllabus from the year 2020 batch for affiliation with icar. Involves compulsory 4 months internship in the final year (4 year course) Faculty - total 9 + guest lecturers They are very experienced and one of the very dedicated to their work. Teaching is through presentation, notes, experiences and learning from practical activities. Exam- mid sem and end sem in between each semester. Involves Quizes and practicals.

The course is based under the ICAR curriculum. All the faculty members are well experienced and knowledgeable with various achievements and papers under their names. I have enjoyed my 3 years of B.Sc CS in VOU. The college was good and the infrastructure was quite good too. Faculty is also supportive and helping. Updated labs are useful and you will face no worries here.
