Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very much intresting. In the first year you will learn the subjects which comes under Basic Science and Humanities like physics, chemistry, mathematics, also there will be mechanical lab, electrical lab and physics lab. From the 2nd year you will start learning your coree topics like learning various computer languages. I specifically chosen this course to learn various computer languages because of my interest in tech from the beginning.
Internships Opportunities
As i am in the first year of my college, so i don't know much about the internship opportunities but as i have heard from my seniors till now, there are many internship opportunities available. some of my seniors are doing their internship in web develpoment.
Placement Experience
As i am in my first year so i don't know much about the placements but as i have heard from my seniors, placement percentage of this college of IT department is highest. Around 93% of the students of IT branch got placed last to last year and for the last year, it is still going on. Most of the students got offer from TCS and Wipro.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for 4 year course is 605000 and it increases slightly after few years but not on a regular bassis. I paid a total of 165000 for the first year, this included my tuition fees, admission fees and some extra charges. You also have to pay 2700 for registration and 1200 as the examination fees every semester. If you are a residential of west bengal and belongs to any category like TFW or EWS then your tuition fees will be much lesser, for one of my friend who belongs to TFW category, it was around 218000 for the whole course.
Campus Life
The campus life is overall good. There are many clubs like tech (Geekonix), educational (Samarth), sports (Technotkarsh), startup (IIC) etc. There is also a nice library from where you can avail boks and journals. There are 2 ground in the campus where you can play sports like football and cricket, also many events are conduccted by clubs like gaming, photography, anchoring, public speaking and many more for the overall development.
Admission
I had also applied of IEM but my rank was not that much good to get the higher branch like CSE and IT there. I chose this college specifically because of the location and the placement percentage. If you are intrested to take this college in your future then you have to give WBJEE examination, you can also get admission there by management quota.
Faculty
The faculties of our college are very helpful. They will always be there to help you in your problems. There are 4 CA's (continuous assessment) of 25 marks each held before every end semester examination. 5 marks is given for the attendance and the end semester examination is of 70 marks for the theory paper, after that practical examinations are conducted. I liked the physics faculties most.
Night Life
There is no hostel facility of the college, so most of the students lives in nearby places like keshtopur and mohish batthan. There are two gronds in the campus where you and your frienfds can hangout in your free times, also there are many places to hangout inside the college. The locality is totally safe as it comes under sector 5 which is the IT hub of kolkata.
