Course Curriculum Overview

3

To be honest, the course curriculum is just like all the btech colleges.. We get to study physics, maths , chemistry, basic electrical and mechanical in first year... That I think is totally irrelevant for a CSE student.. We can improve this by focusing more on real life problems and teaching solutions to students as per their branch(subject).. The frequency of exam is high as we have 4CAs per subject and 1 sem exam but it does matter that much as most of CA exams are not that difficult.. so you can be stress free for most of the time

Placement Experience

2

The placement is quite decent (not really that great) Infact the number of placement is decreasing year after year... And even the average package is also just 5 LPA .. And not all the students get placed... So tbh it is also one of the con of the college.... As placement is mostly for cse students and other core branch doesn't have much placement....

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees i pay is almost 1.5 lakh/yr. For management quota you have to give 14lakhs for admission and after that 6.05 lakhs of fees as usual students that accumulats a total of 20lakhs for 4 year... The normal fees is 605000 for general category students for 4 years... But If you have a bengal domicile and a TFW certificate then your fees can be reduced to as low as 2.5 to 3 lakhs for 4 years... Some miscellaneous fees:- 1. Admission fees - 85000(that includes your 1st sem fees + dress + bag + library card + admission fees) 2. Semester exam fees - 1200 and 1000(for per back subjects) 3. Registration fees - 2700 4. Semester fees - varies from 70-76 thousand.. Now obviously the fees is increasing at rate of approx 5-7% Like the year before it was like 5.8 lakhs but for me it was 6.05 so it may increase next year...

Campus Life

5

The overall college experience for me is quite amazing but it may be different from other's point of view. I enjoy the campus life because it has a good male is to female ratio and fests happens per 3-5 months. The sports and extracurricular club is also good... Our college have many clubs including sports, drama , dance , coding etc .... But our annual fest is controlled by the ankooran club members...

Admission

I choosed this college because this was cheap and was close to my hometown in bihar and have a good faculty... I couldn't go to other colleges in Bangalore because they are too far as well as expensive for me and my family... The admission process for my college is just too easy.. we have to apply online through wbjee window and just for 1 day we have come with required documents and here we are done with the process... And joined TMSL

Faculty

4

The number of faculty our clg have is preety decent and the ratio is like 1:30 ... And they are very helping in nature... Some pros of our faculty is that they are available for Students almost every time. And con is that when they are in flow they switch to bangla.. But the exam system is quite confusing as our college is affiliated to makaut(university).. So there are 4 internals and one semester exam every semester.. Here internals is knows as CA ( exams ) We have 4 CAs for each subject.. CA1 - we have to make a ppt on topic given to us CA2 - it's report writing on selected topic CA3 - it is a 25 marks written exam of 45 mins CA4 - it is a MCQ type question of 25 marks given by makaut.. Each CA is if 25 marks and we get the average of our 2 best CAs as marks of internal and 5 marks for attendence... And the remaining 70 marks is for semester exam

Night Life

5

As I have already mentioned earlier that our college is located at the best place in Kolkata and it have one of the best night life to explore.... We have good roads nice locality... More than enough parks and just 3 km near the clg we have night bars if someone wanna enjoy that way... So it's preety safe and secure night life here in salt lake sector V...

Placement Experience:

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
