Course Curriculum Overview

5

From the beginning was into electronic gadgets and always had a thing for new technologies. That is one of the main reason i chose this course. This course really helps understand different aspects of different types of electrical and electronic components that we use in our daily life. We have a regular examinations system consisting of two internal exams, lab exams for relevant subject and finally one semester exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provides plenty of internship opportunities like IEE internships etc. I haven't currently applied for any internships as I'm a first year right now. Iam now focusing on building my skills and then i will apply for internships focusing technological jobs

Placement Experience

3

Although the placements at my college is not as high compared to other top collages, still it is pretty decent. Students become eligible for placement after seventh semester onwards. Many companies visit our college for placements like TCS L&T etc and mostly that recruit students without fail Highest package that we got last year was 100000 rs by a student from electronics and communication department The average package at our college is around 4 lakhs per annum The percentage of students who got placed from last year's batch were around 40% After completion of my degree i am planning to get placed at companies like nvidia or Google

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees in this college for my course is around 9500 rupees along with other fees like sports charges, fest charges, Parent teacher association charges etc. most of My batchmates have the same fees except some are exempted from paying fees due to their reservations.

Campus Life

4

Our college organises many tech and cultural fests. Our annual tech fest is called Lakshya and we organise other fests like ardino etc Our college has a pretty big library with a lot of books which are easily accessible for students and teachers. Each class room in my college has a smart board with a projector to project notes and slides. Our computer classes are fully equipped with computers and screens fir every students. The University organises inter zone sports competitions every year in which every government engineering college participates. Besides that our college organises inter department football competitions. There are many social groups in our college like NSS or IEEE. They provide big opportunities to students in every field

Admission

I applied for many Government engineering colleges as a part of state councelling. I got admission in some of them like GEC Wayanad but i didn't take admission there as GECK was a better option. I also got rejected from some of the top colleges as my grades in entrance examination were not enough to get admission there. After i got allotment in this college i came here with my parents for verification and admission process. It was a tedious process as there were many other students but it went smoothly as senior students were actively helping us.

Faculty

4

Our college has more than enough faculty for every subject. Our faculties are really professional and are really passionate towards teching. My favourite faculty teacher is my engineering graphics teacher Mr Prajeet. There is not really any faculty that i don't like as they are all really nice. My college is following semester system that means my four years in this college is divided into 8 semesters and each semester has two internal examinations for the internal grading. These exams are sometimes difficult and sometimes normal.

Night Life

4

Our college is open 24 hours and one can hang out at any time in our college. I often go for a walk at our college after dinner. My college has almost all facilities. It has a fully functional gym with all the necessary equipments. Students come here in the evenings for workout. The college also has a cafeteria and a very big and fully functional library Our college does not have a men's hostel so every boy is currently staying in PGs The most famous hang out place in our college is a swing which is near the canteen. There are always people there laughing and playing the

I didn't opt for this college as GECK was a better option than this.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
