Course Curriculum Overview

5

As a computer science student, relevant subjects are added to this course. All subjects are indepth, and will be needed in future, has influenced to take this course. The course curriculum is set very precisely keeping future needs in mind. The subjects which are taught are very relevant. Curriculum is helping for real-world applications and further academics pursuits. More visualization can be used for teaching purposes like ppts. Frequency and timing of exams are really good and helpful, and difficulty level is moderate.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placements from 7th Semester. Mass hiring companies are TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, L&T and many start-ups. Average no of offers are like 15 to 20 with avg. pakage of 3.5 LPA to 4 LPA. Highest pakage is 9 LPA offered by Congizant for SDE1 job profile. Almost 80 to 85% students are placed. Rest goes for higher studies. I want to get into a job, after completion.

A wide range of journal and books are held in library, specially for GATE aspirants. Almost every classroom have projectors and technological provisions like smart board. Various sport activites like annual sport competitions, small tech fests conducted. Many clubs for coding, and social activities(like visting old age home) are present in college.

Admission

I got confirmed adimission from JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani and Narula Institute of Technology, Agarpara. I chose this college because I got CSE Branch here. I got ECE from JIS and Narula, but wanted to opt CSE, so I took admission to MCKV. One need to get admitted into college through couselling or Management quota. Students must have 75% in there 12th or 60% in their diploma to get admitted. WBJEE and JEE Mains exams are excepted are. Most preferred exam is WBJEE. The cut offs are near about: CSE: 14600(General) & 250000(AIR for JEE Mains) IT: 21000(General) & 300000(AIR for JEE mains) ECE: 35000(General) & 4500000(AIR for JEE mains) If you have near about this, your admission will be smooth.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is about 1:35. The faculties are very good and polite. Anyone can approach them for any kind of doubts, personal assistance is taken for them. HoD of CSE, Dr. Avijit Bose, is the best teacher and HoD in the college. He is always supportive to each and every students. He gave advise beyond academic career. Except him, Dr. Dipankar Ghosh and Tanmoy Roy Chowdhury, both teacher of Physics, are too good. They are engaging with students, and their teaching is like masterclass. I have not encounted any faculties who are inhuman or not supportive. I do not have any names not to like. Two Written class tests and two assignments, total 4 Class Assements(CA) are taken in a Semester. Very less students are failed, most passed. Relevant course is set keeping future needs in mind.

Interview Experience

5

There is no GD, Interview or written test for admission. Student take direct admission through WBJEE or JEE Mains Counselling or management quota. I have both WBJEE and JEE Mains, and got admission through WBJEE.

Night Life

2

We have a gym but do not have any cafeterias or public area off for hangout. Student typically go to home after classes. Campus timing is 9AM to 6PM. There is no hang out place inside college but outside there are several malls, cinema theature and food places to hang out. The locality is not safe in the night.

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

The college hosts a range of companies including TCS,Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant etc but iam not agree and satisfied with college internship and placement support The overall average placement ranges between 60-70 percent sometimes varying but not providing good internships to students also companies are not picking many students only hiring about 4-5 students, I don't think the college has good membership with companies.
