Course Curriculum Overview

3

Cousre curriculum is not so relevant. The old syllabus is still in use. There is no use of these things in industry. But in practicals or labs somehow we learn things that are going to be used in real world applications as well. The exam is of 2.5 hours and the difficulty level is moderate

Internships Opportunities

3

You will not get directly internship from the college directly. From college you will get some mails and then you have to apply and if selected then you can work paid or upaid. Full stack web developer, frontend and backend roles are mostly offered for internship.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are decent if you are from top 4 or 5 branches. In lower branches very less chance of getting placed. You have to do coding to get placed as there were not so much opportunities in the core sector. Average package was around 4.5 lpa and one student got 1.6 cr package but off campus. Almost 60 percent students get placed. My plan is to clear gate and pursue masters from IIT

Fees and Financial Aid

As I took admission in 2022 the fee was approx 4 lacs for the entire course but from the last year it has been increased to 7 lakhs for the entire course. On an average my yearly fees is 1 lakh. The caution fees is 10 thousand one time but it is refundable after the completion of course. Also managemnt quota is available. If you want to get direct admission without clearing WBJEE you can take admission directly through management quota but you have to pay an extra sort of money above the regular fees. I don't know the exact amount of managemnt quota. There is no benifit of fee waiving on caste basis. If you are from west bengal and you're economically weak then you will get a tution fee waiver. Also any government scholarship is applicable in the college.

Campus Life

2

The campus life is tha major con of this college as no fests happened in the last 5 years. Except this there are so many clubs and sports facilities indoor and outdoor is present. A Central Library with more than 30 thousand books is there and a gym used to be present before but now not in working condition.

Admission

I took admission in this college because of my rank. My rank was not very good to take admission in other good colleges. Although my college is also decent and one of the top private colleges in west Bengal but still. One thing is good that is the ROI of this college as fees is very less. You have to give wbjee exam to get into this college.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is 1 by 20 which is decent. Some of the professors are very knowledgeable and supporting but most of them are generally rude. The course Curriculum is not so much relevant and lots of exams are taken that i personally don't like. Exam was on a moderate level. In my branch most of the students don't like the HOD because of her Behaviour

Night Life

3

The library can be accessed till 8 pm and cafeterias are closed after 6 pm. As i don't stay in hostel i can't say much about this but after 10 pm you can't go out. The college is situated near a lake and far from the main city. Malls are there in a distance of 3 km to hangout.

Other Applied Colleges

Jadavpur University - [JU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Electrical Engineering)

My rank was not good enough to get into this college.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
