Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum in History are divide in various time periods such as Ancient, Medieval, Modern but also Early Medieval, Early Modern and they India and the World. This helps us to have a better understanding of the vast historical legacy. The curriculum helps us to choose which specific time prriod we are interested in and to pursue it further. The course could be improved with administration allowing more of field visits and trips. The exams are prepared by the respective teaching faculty and also corrected by them. The only thing is its hard to please doctorate professors with your Bachelorate answers.

Fees and Financial Aid

We pay fees semester-wise which 23,500 rupees. The fees of the other batches are increasing with almost reaching 25,000 includibg all the charges. Hostel fees is almost 1 lakh annually. There are fee waviers for students with low economic background which they have to avail every semester and scholarships afe very hard to get as you have to deal a lot with the administration. The scholarship is given after the submission of fees thus according to me it's a waste to go through all the trouble with the sus office as results aren't frutiful.

Campus Life

3

One of the major lovable thing about AUD is it's library. A room full of books, mostly even the professors recommend those books which are present in library. There is a computer lab but with no Air conditioning, it's really suffocating there. There are projectors and also smart screens installed in the classrooms but with no proper maintenance of air conditioning. There are various student running societies in college, expansing from Co-Cirrculars, course basis and political wings. But mostly politics exist within the cabinet of these societies.

Admission

I applied mostly to the girls colleges of DU. But it was my first time giving CUET. Thus, I filled the wrong examination and wasn't offered the honors course by any other college except AUD. The admission process of AUD implied you to have the general test included in your CUET on the basis of which admissions were considered. I will simply prefer taking CUET exam and scoring 75% at least to get in AUD. Also as compared to ther colleges, fests are very minimal here making the college life all about studying.

Faculty

4

The faculty of Aud university are best in their feild with most of the professors holding a doctorare degree and books published in their feilds. In the History Department there over 10 faculty professors. The most approachable and friendly faculty are Dr. Manoj Kaumar, Dr. Yogesh Snehi, Dr. Tanuja Kothiyal. I like these professors as they are also helping me out in my research work, which I may present in my fourth year or phd. There are few guest faculties who are hard to please and strictly go by rules, even if there is fog outside and you are 15 mins late they won't let you enter the classroom. The exams are taken semester wise with mid-sems mostly consisted of presentations and assignments. The faculty of AUD are training their students in how to write professional articles thus making us ready for future.

Night Life

3

I am not in hostel but my hostelites friends inform me that their is a curfew till 8. the Famous hangout spots are either Nescafe and Tiwari Canteen. It's not safe to sit with food at every location in university as there is an army of monkeys bouncing on the roofs ready to charge at you whenever they see anything in your hand, from water bottle to lunch, they don't spare anything.

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option
