What Students Say
Likes
- The greenery in campus was the first thing I was impressed with the most.
- The quality and experience of faculty is probably the best element of this university. Each and every teacher is a master in his/her course. The way of teaching is very interesting.
- The social environment is very collaborative and healthy. Lots of open jamming sessions and other co-curricular activities keeps happening.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college is decent but it requires improvement. The number of classrooms should be increased.
- The workload is more than it should be due to excessive assignments, presentation, projects along with semester exams
- The attendance policy is way too harsh, it is 75% so you only get 6 to 7 leaves
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is up to the mark. It includes a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge for the overall growth of student. It helps in personality development and professional growth. This type of curriculum is more flexible in general and helps you give more room for improvement. If you are unable to perform in one aspect you still have other two to improve. The curriculum is generally divided into 3 parts for a particular course 1. Presentation/assignment - 20% 2. Mid sem exam - 30% 3. End sem exam - 40% As mentioned above the curriculum provides a mix of practical and theoretical knowledge along with the industrial field visits a d additional internship opportunities this course prepares you overall for the real world applications and develops you understanding for pursuing higher education. If you attendance is not as per the criteria you will not be able to sit for the exam. This policy must be changed to provide children some relaxation on the top of the hectic attendance policy. Furthermore along with these there are alot of activities and assignment that are given by teachers which puts a lot of load on the students, and students in their last year suffers the most due to this as they have to prepare for their competitive exams as well so they are enable to cope up with so many things. They mid sem exam is conducted somewhere in the middle of the semester and end sem exam at the end of the semester. Mid sem generally will be for 1.5 hrs and will be for 30 marks whereas the end sem will be of 2 hrs and will be of 40 marks. End sem sometimes includes mcqs otherwise the paper is generally objective based. They difficulty of exam is moderate according to me and the difficulty level may get increased in upcoming years.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities provided are great as far as Bba is concerned. We got an internship in an NGO( Hum Honge Kamyab NGO) in our first year for one month , where I had a role of project manager, I was rewarded with the best intern. I also did some excel work and made some data entry sheets for the mentor. During our 2nd year I got an internship in Kweek corporate solutions where I worked as a business development and analytics intern for 2 months, here I learned how exactly a company works and what all is the role of a business analytics manager. There was no stipend for me as it was a startup but some of my colleagues who got internship in good companies got a stipend ranging from Rs10,000 to Rs15,000. The projects I did in my first internship were basically managing the tasks and events organised by the NGO and provide some reports on how can we help in development of the NGO. We provided insights on how the NGO can grow by establishing soem more branches in other states which worked out well. I also managed a republic day event held there and provided an overview of how the teaching session could be conducted there. In my second internship I mostly provided reports on what can this startup achive in near future, analysed all the departments and where the organisation is lacking and identified that the organisation is focused on only dropshipping so they have to try to cater some other areas as well where they can have more growth, with this suggestion they started dealing in apperals and business gifts. Overall the internship experience was great and the opportunities provided were good.
Placement Experience
The eligibility for the placement for the students will be offered in the last lear and more precisely in the last semester. Our college has a Placement cell which is doing a great work. They are reaching to thousands of companies and then try to get some of them for the college placements. The placement cell for the past years was not as active so the packages last year on an average was 5.5 lpa. Last year 92 companies were invited and 168 students got placements. Moreover, as per Dr BR Ambedkar University Delhi NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during UG 3-year and PG 2-year placements 2023 stood at INR 4.5 LPA and INR 7.5 LPA, respectively. The top recruiters were JLL, Crompton Greaves, The Smart Cube, Pradan, E&Y among several others. Almost 20% students every year gets placement into some company or other. I am preparing for a government exam after my graduation as I have an interest in that sector and I like dress jobs. As of now my cgpa is not that good that could also be counted a some of the reason as to why I am not trying to geta job in private sector.
Fees and Financial Aid
So when you pay your fees for 1st semester you have to pay Rs47600 (Rs5000 extra for caution money) and for the rest of semester it is Rs42600. The fee structure is as follows: 1. Tution fees - Rs37100 2. Student welfare funds - Rs500 3. Co-curricular and industry - Rs5000 Total - Rs42600 for one semester For 1 yr fees would be Rs85200. There are no additional fee you have to pay. In my case since 2022 no fees have been introduced and the fee structure is same. As far as the scholarship scheme is concerned an Amount of Rs10,000 will be given to you in case you are in the top 10 performers in your batch(in terms of sgpa). However the scholarship for the first semester was allocated to the students in 5th semester. If you come under any category or your annual family income is less than Rs3,00,000 no tution fees has to be paid and you only have to pay Rs5500.
Campus Life
From the past two years there has been no annual or technical fests due to certain reasons but the annual fest of AUD known as Audacity will be conducted this year. It usually happens during spring season. There are not a lot of events happening in the campus but there are some. The library of our campus which is in Kashmere gate is huge and it has all varieties of books from fiction to non fiction, poems, political, academic, self help etc and the range goes on and on. It consists journals, newspaper to autobiography and phd books. They are very easy to access you just have to register in one of the files the guard has and you can read it in the library or you can borrow it for a week and then you can renew your previous book and extend the deadline for the return to later weeks. The library is fully air conditioned, quiet, with a librarian and a guide who will help you to find books. The classroom conditions are fairly good. They are as well fully air conditioned. They have smart boards and whiteboard together for better teaching methods. Although the conditions of the desks are not great but they are manageable. The cleanliness of the room is great. The sports and extracurricular activities is decent you have a big ground with a vollyball court in it. A basketball court and a tennis court( currently not in use and is being used as a parking space) and a badminton court. There are college level teams for each sport which take part in inter college tournaments as well. Some intra college tournaments also happens in our college, including events for cricket, badminton, basketball, vollyball, chess etc. the equipments are available at the sports room however you can access them after 2pm only. There are a lot of societies so there are a lot of extra curricular activities and events happening for eg. recently a dance competition wa held in the college. Weekly jamming sessions happens. There are a lot of student clubs and societies, including music and dance.
Admission
I applied for various other colleges such as some colleges in Delhi University, galgotias, KR mangalam etc. some of them I didn't choose due to the distance form my home and I did not get much DU colleges as I wanted to pursue Bba and not many colleges in DU provides Bba program. I did not get any DU college hence. The other colleges had high fees structure. This College just required the marks of general test and my name was in the first list hence I took this college not Waiting for other du lists as it would have been a risk. Initially I didn't had knowledge about cuet and I filled some subjects and took other courses, I generally filled subjects related to maths, physics and science but filled options for the course of Bba which was a huge blunder. I got this college luckily as I had filled Genral test as one of the subjects. The admission process of the college includes - 1. You have to give cuet ug exam and take one subject as general test. The the college will provide admissions through 7 lists so you have many opportunities to get an admission 2. Then they will mail you and tell you the dates for the first fee payment and enrollment. Then you have to teach at the university on the allocated date and then you have to provide all the documents required such as 10th and 12th marksheet, identity proof etc. 3. If you can apply for a fee waiver please do it as it will reduce the fee burden. The rest is simple they will call you for a. Orientation program and then you schedule and classes and id card will be provided to you. The cutoff for the general test was above 95 percentile. You have to have passed your 12th from a recognised board or institution. The overall admission experience was smooth, no difficulty was caused during the process various departments were there for various things and the management was decent
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio would be 6:70. As mentioned previously the faculty is one of the best elements of this university. They are approachable and will clear all your doubts, be it academic or non academic. The faculty to student relations are really good. They try to teach each concept clearly and thoroughly. They teach with the help of self made presentations so you don't have to read a 800 page book. So the best faculty I had there was Priyanka ma'am and she taught us Organisational behaviour. She was the most polite and helpful teacher. She not only taught us the concepts of OB but also the deeper meaning it had. She encouraged each student to answer whatever they had in mind without the fear of going wrong. We never felt bored during her session. One of the faculty I didn't liked was a spanish teacher as he would just come to the class and give us a pdf to read and then go away, most of the students didn't even understood the basics of spanish. When we asked doubts he always tried to beat around the bush and tells us to you didn't listen while I was teaching even though he didn't even teach that topic. We complained this to our program coordinator and then he was replaced by a good faculty. There will a Mid term in the middle of semester and an End term at the end of semester. The exams are fairly simple. The classes will be of 2hrs and hence the course for one subject mostly gets completed within 28 sessions if it is a 4 credit course and 14 sessions if it is a 2 credit course. As I have seen for the last 2 years most of the students are able to pass the mid and end sem exams, excluding 2 or 3 who didn't even knew what was going on in the class. The course curriculum is designed really well it is a mix of theory as well as practical knowledge. You first will be taught theory from ppts which will be later provided to you and you can use them as reference for your mid and end sem exams. And for the practical part you will have to give a presentation.
Night Life
My favourite hangout spots are behind the Nescafe or around the canteen area. During winters we mostly spend time in the ground under the bright sunlight. I am not aware of any late night activities as I am not in the college hostel I usually leave the campus around 6pm. Usually student after the class spend time with friends in the ground or in the canteen, some like to gather and start some jamming sessions, me and my friend s like to play games in our free time. The gym is functional but right now it has very less equipments but the university is telling us that soon they will add more equipments. The cafeteria condition is decent but not up to the mark the seating facilities are decent but their should be more seating space as it sometimes gets congested. The quality of food is also not that great. The library conditions as mentioned previously are fantastic, you can access the library from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening. The campus is open from 8am to 8pm.
