Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is well tailored for the proper understanding of all the concepts and topics included in it, the reference books and the additional readings are very helpful for the students, but if you look at courses like history and political science, the amount of reading required to refer to is a little too much. The curriculum properly prepares us for the next academic step, which is our post-graduation. The areas where I'd suggest improvement would be to provide simple.

Internships Opportunities

2

As I mentioned earlier, it is to be noted that placements are mainly for BA Economics honours and a few other BSC courses. We have a placement cell through which we can apply for internships and placements, we can upload our certificates in their online portal, and they'll let us know if we're selected. Just a few days ago, I got an internship opportunity from Eduport, an educational startup from Kerala, but I couldn't accept it as I was physically unwell.

Placement Experience

2

Students become eligible for placements mostly after the 5th semester. Many companies like Deloitte, Wipro, Microsoft, etc, visit the college for placements. However, it is to be noted that placements are mostly offered to students from economics or BSc courses. My plan is to go for a master's, my aim is to become a professor.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 22,250rs for my first semester. So the annual fees would be around 44,500rs, which is pretty affordable if you compare it with that of the Sonipat colleges. St. Stephen's gives you the same quality education and much greater exposure for a fraction of the fees paid. The fees go significantly lower for PwD students, which makes the college inclusive and accessible. The detailed fee division will be given in the fee receipt. Also SC/ST students can avail scholarships provided by the government.

Campus Life

5

Our annual festival is named Harmony, it is an art and cultural extravaganza. The college library provides tonnes of academic resources for free as long as you're a bona fide student of the college. Every classroom is a smart class with WIFI and a projector. They're air conditioned for comfort. Stephen's is known for it's sports and extra curricular activities, making it one of the best in the university in terms of these. here are lots of societies and clubs run by the students, which opens our doors to various opportunities.

Admission

I applied to St. Xavier's college (Kolkata), Banaras Hindu University, Pondicherry University, Ferguson College (Pune), and University College (Thiruvananthapuram) alongside St Stephen's College. I got confirmed admission from all these colleges and I enrolled in St. Xavier's before St. Stephen's as there was an unforeseen delay regarding admissions due to the CUET results being delayed.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student's ratio is pretty fair and the faculty are all very approachable. We can mail them and they'll let us know when we can meet them. Sometimes they'll come towards us and ask about our concerns. The best faculties or my favourite ones would be: Dr. Malay Neeraj (Teaches social formations for the first years) Mr. Naveen John Panicker (a guest faculty, he taught me creative writing. He's from the department of English) Dr. Sharmila Ray (another guest faculty, teaches History of USA for the first years)

Interview Experience

5

No group discussions were there but however there was an interview for the Christian minority students. For these students, the weightage of CUET scores is 85%, the rest 15% is on your interview. The interview has two sections, which check our knowledge in the subject that we have opted for.

Night Life

4

We have two cafés and several lawns for students to hang out. Gym facility, football ground, and courts for basketball and tennis are provided for students for their overall development. The curfew in the college hostel is at 10 PM for both boys and girls. The north campus area is safe for students at night, but always beware of pickpockets.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

Placement Experience:

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
