What Students Say

Likes

The campus is too spacious , where you can spend your valuable time with your friends .
There is always a special dish in every college canteen. So you can visit each college for that .
The faculty is too supportive and guide you the way you want to .

Dislikes

The drinking water is tap water . And bcz of that canteen sell water bottles .
Lot of fights in campus leads to a negative environment.
University election is a global warming for campus .

Course Curriculum Overview

I was preparing for civil services and my optional was political science . I opt for that reason and was very helpful. They should work on the content formation rather than story telling . Exams are twice a year and they are nothing more than assignment .

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 6000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee i paid was approx 11000, there was only examination fee other than college fee . There was always an option to apply for fee concession , students have to pay the whole fee and after seeing criteria DU faculty refund the fee .

Campus Life

There are lot of fests generally each department did it once a year . Library is the best place , the book availability is perfect but student who take it once use it for that semester . So better you go first .

Admission

There was 12 th marks thing at my time and i didn't get it in north campus . As i was from non medical stream and opt for humanities . My 5 percent was deducted . Got dyal singh college in my first cut off and it was 91 percent .

Faculty

Its like 1 over 40 . Sunil kadian sir , he was good in his way of teaching and each student get the vibes . There are like 4 subjects in each semester and the exam pattern is simple -internals and then sem exams . That is 1 day job , prepare the day before exam and you will pass .

Night Life

Night outs are in hauz khas ,champa gali . The night life of delhi is explanatory in itself , but you have to take care of your safety never roam alone and avoid the buses in night . In south campus its sunder nursery , humayun tomb and many more .

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Great college with good faculty and student crowd

Placement Experience:

Placements is for 3rd year students. Many good companies visit our campus like bajaj capital, oberoi group. Highest package is around 22 lakhs. We have a lot of internship and placement opportunities come in for students.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

Overall College life experience.

Along with Gargi college I chose some North campus colleges too because of high NIRF ranking . Due to high cut-off and belonging from a general category usually students are not able to crack north campus colleges. This is the main reason why competition is high and seats are less of we look at yearly registrations. You need to give CUET right after completing 12th standard in order to get into top ranked colleges. This college is not good enough for upgrading skill and knowledge.

I have applied many college such as IPU and other colleges of DU IPU have very costly and expensive fees structure where in DU have cheap. But DU addmission is based on CUET marks.
