What Students Say

Likes

Green environment i.e. full of green plants and trees .There are many lakes inside the campus.
Good and friendly seniors as well as good batchmate.

Dislikes

Old infrastructure i.e not proper infrastructure like hostel and other place inside the campus.

I choose this course because of my choice filling .I got this course through choice filling.At present i don't have much knowledge about this course because i haven't studied yet this course .Now i can't answers those questions related to my course .

Internships Opportunities

In my view I think there are many companies come in campus for Internship.companies like PWC ,accenture ,TCS are coming for internship.Now i don't know much about all these factors as i am freshers in this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

As in our college TFW is full for st and sc categories. I also have full Tution fee waiver but my friends other than st and sc are paying their institute fees as well as hostel and mess fess.I am only paying my hostel and mess fees i.e. 29500 per semester. I am not getting any scholarship right now.

Campus Life

There are many events held in IIEST Shibpur.Instrou is one of technical fest held by iiest's students.Instrou is the largest technical fets in Kolkata.There are many more events such as kriti one of the art festival,etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities is good .Mess food are also good and healthy but sometimes they don't make good food. For hostel we have to fill form and according to postal distance they alert hostel for those students who have filled that form.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

I choose this college instead of other because one reason is that I got this college through jossa counseling. This college is one of the most oldest engineering college in India.There are many alumi of this college in higher position of many jobs .

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is 1:11 in our college.Faculty to student relationship is good in our campus.They are good while aapproaching. Dr.Mandira Dey and mathematics faculty are best.There are 2 exam per semester both are in moderate level.

Interview Experience

Yes we have to give JEE mains to get admitted in this college .After the Jee mains we got this college on the basis of Rank .There are 5 round in Jossa counseling aand 2 special round called Csab round .

Night Life

There are many areas in campus where we can spend our time.There are gym,library ,meditation hall,cafes in campus.There are 3 cafes in college .They are institute canteen,cafe in and student canteen.Meditation hall is one of the place where we can seat and feel environmental factors .

A comprehensive review of MAKAUT , WB

Placement Experience:

from 6/7 th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys visited with around 22-23 offers , Cognizant visited with arount 15-16 offers , TCS visited with several offers(not sure how many) , that's it the big names. Apart from these small startups and companies visited too. Highest package offered was 11lpa by TCS , 9.6lpa by infosys, 6.48lpa by Cognizant. Profiles were ASE in TCS , PAT in CTS , SET in Infosys. The percentage of students placed was less arount 30-40% , mostly because the curriculum lacks placement prep. I have joined Cognizant as a Programmer Analyst Trainee after graduating .

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management,healthcare,media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting,education,sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. Placement was average if you have good background knowledge so you will definitely get placed. After 7th semester companies started coming and also there is different criteria for all companies like some company required more than 8 CGPA that completely dependent on company preferences. The average package is 3.5 lpa .Most of the student get hired by tcs. Placement success based on branch and skill.

Students become eligible for campus placement starting from 6th semester ,meanwhile u can also get paid internship from 5th semester itself .The companies which visited the campus most frequently are Cognizant ,TCS ,Infosys ,IBM ,PwC ,BMC ,Tavisca ,Wipro ,Amazon .Tavisca provided over 12 LPA while BMC provided over 14 LPA ,meanwhile in 2024 ,a new record of highest package emerged which is of 21 LPA.The Average package is 480,000 rupee CTC .Over 80 to 90% of students are placed and the college has a very good alumni network which provides u with referrals and possible jobs.I plan to join a IT company after getting my degree

Mainly mass recruiter companies like TCS, wipro, Infosys, cognizant comes here.Some top notch mncS like oracle,amazon, Microsoft also comes here .One senior of our previous batch got 1 cr Per annum in off campus way. Avg package is 10 lpa like . Jft and pst branch has full 100% placement. My plan after getting the degree is to be placed in top notch mnc & work as SDE.

I have not applied in any other college Before taking admission in this college. I have availed OBC-NCL quota and homestate quota for the admission. The admission criteria for my program is based on the ranking in JEE mains exam.The minimum cut off rank to take admission in this program is 30,000 and my ranking was 19,000 in OBC-B quota. The admission process in this college is done by counselling.This counselling is done by JOSAA. They publish name pannel for the eligible students to take admission.There are 7 paneel rounds along with 2 special rounds in the counselling procedure.
