What Students Say

Likes

The smart community is what impresses me the most. Male female interaction is pretty good. Also students are generous and helpful to each other, amd sp is the staff. Also senior junior interaction is friendly.

Dislikes

The thing I dislike is that sometimes their can be frustrating moments like water isn't coming, the student committee head won't listen, you'll be late by 2 minutes and you'll be punished, or even that you'll have to wait in long lines.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is very relevant to the latest industry's demands. We have ML courses as well, and we have a lot of extra curricular activities that keep us up to date. While the course prepares us for corexwe have plenty of non core opportunities.

Class Size: 140Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

3 lakh rupees approx per year is my fee. It imcludes my hostel fee, mess fee, labs, academic and extra curricullars. Sport is inclusive (while gym has to be separately paid for) but for the sporting gear you have to buy yourself.

Campus Life

My campus life is amazing. There are many student clubs amd societies, most of the hobbies are covered. Clubs offer hreat opportunities to make new friends and upskill yourself simultaneously, and also provide bonding experiences.

Admission

I was always looking for IIT Kharagpur. It's the largest, oldest, and one of the most beautiful IITs. The Institute has a reputation of it's own, alongside which it has plenty, plenty of opportunities.

Faculty

I really like the faculty at my campus. They're smart, hardworking, and dedicated to their job... We also owe them for timely updates they promptly give us on emails without fail.... The faculrt memebers are truly dedicated to their job for which they deserve respect. I have had 2 sets of exams and other minor tests. The marking schemes differed through the subjects.

Night Life

So there are many cafes in the campus. There is a large gym in gymkhana, while smaller gyms in student residence halls. There's a large central Library, and also smaller libraries in student halls. Also a lot of hang out spots.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

A Deep Dive into JGEC

Placement Experience:

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

Course Curriculum Overview:

the cirricullum is quite relevent and comprehensive . BTECH program especially CSE includes specializations like data sciene , cybersecurity, IOT, etc . Exams are held twice in a semester . the college could include hand on learning through workshop , industry project and interships .

One of the best dairy technology colleges

Placement Experience:

Almost 100% of the students can get placements if they study well and learn well. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA and the average salary package offered is 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies of our college are Amul, Mother Dairy, Red Cow, Metro, ITC, Thackers, TCS etc. Students can get various types of jobs like dairy development officer, dairy technologist, farm manager etc.

Campus life at IIT KGP
