Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think Gargi, coming under Delhi University, offers the same curriculum as in any other DU college. The teaching methods are great theoretically, and we are also moving forward towards practicality. But there is still a long way to go since we are only taught things through books when the reality of work is quite the opposite.

Internships Opportunities

4

Gargi offers an ample amount of placement opportunities. From organising an internship fair every year to always circulating verified internship opportunities in whatsapp groups. The placement cell is working actively in the college. Some of the companies are - physics wallah, Younity, Pehchaan the street school, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my first year, I paid 15,000 rs for my course i.e B.com Hons. Each semester, there is an examination fee which has to be paid which is around 1,500 rs. In the start of my second year, I have paid 17,500 rs. The fee varies from course to course, and if the student has any quota.

Campus Life

5

Ask from any Gargi girl, and the answer to this question will be - "The Best". There is a lot to do if you have good friends. The college is situated in South Delhi, therefore, there are multiple hang out sports nearby like Hauz khas, Lajpat Nagar, Saket, etc. Apart from this, the college itself is full of stuff to do and there is a lot to explore. Although the campus isn't that large, but it still is good enough. The fests are grand and there is always something going on in the college, so, if you're worried about getting bored then just chill !

Admission

I applied for various colleges like Hindu, SRCC, LSR. My first allotment was Gargi college which I placed at no. 7. I was happy with it and I didn't apply for any upgrade because Gargi was nearest to my home i.e 45 mins. So, I would've died if I was to go to North Campus daily. The admission process at Gargi is pretty much the same as any other DU college. You give CUET, get your allotment, pay the fee, get your admission slip and come to the college on orientation. The cutoff for Gargi is pretty high, I'll say 700+ in most courses. My course was B.com Hons and I got 710 marks in my CUET exam.

Faculty

4

The faculty at Gargi College are all highly experienced and ranked professors and most of them have a doctorate degree. Gargi is inculcating young professors as well, thereby, supporting young people. As for exams, you can easily pass them even if you study 2 days before.

Night Life

3

There isn't any hostel at Gargi College, so, I won't know much about the nightlife. Although, about safety, Gargi is situated in South Delhi. Therefore, the region is pretty safe for women and there are guards almost at every corner.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In regard to the relevancy of the course Im quite fond of the subjects such as BL CA AND HRM they give us the better insights for both practical and theoritical knowledge making us ready for the "real" world . As For the improvement i feel like there should be some flexibility in GE so that students can choose a sub as per their choice as Hindi is fixed for me which isnt quite suitable for my course and it just drags my CGP down. The frequency if the exam is okay but the timing I feel like its way too fast just after first sem exam we had classes and all test and felt like it went on a spur

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college has become very active from this year and is bringing various internship as well as placement opportunities in the college . Students of the 5th sem i.e. 3rd year are eligible for placements. Average package of the college is around ?5-6 lac p.a.. My plan after getting a degree is to go for a corporate job , if provided on campus well and good otherwise to find one myself off campus .
