A brief Introduction of IIEST SHIBPUR

well i decide this course cause i did b.tech in Computer Science & Engineering so i choose this course . The theory subject is not based on the real world.The project is based on real world application. they should add subject like ML & AI or Blockchain etc. we have 4 months for a semester in the 1st two month we have our mid sem then again after 2 month we have end sem exam. the exam are moderate .

TCS, infosys, Accenture, cognizant they hire for software roles ,while not core company like Tata motors,jindal etc they hire for supervisor, Junior Engineer ,and some managerial post. We have to complete a project in our final year.the project is based on ML or AI,Blockchain or any new technology.

for b.tech its 6 semester. for m.tech its 3rd semester that students are eligible for placement. lots of company have visited this college like tcs,wipro,Tata steel, Google,etc. HIghest package is 40LPA average is 7LPA. Almost 90% of student get placed here. Get a good job after completing this course.

This is a 2 years course.(M.Tech) Each year we have to provide 85000. Every semester 42500/-.(this is for General/OBC/EWS). For sc/st students the fees is 7500 per semester. ALL students get GATE Scholarship that is 12400 per month.

The college has lots of clubs & techfest are going on all year around. the college have a big liabrary, The liabrary contains mostly Engineering books. In some classroom there are digital boards, while most classroom have normal chalk boards. The college organise intra and inter college tournament.

The admission is based on gate rank.I have given this college as 1st option for my counselling .I got this college on 4th round of counselling. i also took admission on jadavpur university but did not go there as both the college is same level.But IIEST SHIBPUR is closer to my home . The admission is through gate counselling.

IN M.tech we have 19 students and our department has 13 teachers. for B.tech there are 110 students . More over all teachers are good. here we have two exams , mid semester(30 marks) & end semester examination(50marks) rest of the 20 marks are in teachers hand.

THE college has a gym, 2 canteen and 1 cafeteria. total 16 hostels are there 12 boys hostel & 4 girls hostel. we have clock tower inside the college,except that we have river side of ganges, just beside the college.
