Students opinion is appreciated by the university
The campus is free and people can wear anything they want which i liked the most
also there are various clubs and co cirricular activites you can participate in instead of only stuying

Dislikes

Too much casual on things like maintainance on thing like cleaning the campus reconstructing it etc
Too much political involvement of the university
Exposure to various unhealthy things as it is easily accessible

Course Curriculum Overview

To be honest i really didnt know about this course much in the beginning but after i started learning about it it was kind of interesting in its own field but for me its not such a good thing i would consider as a career

Internships Opportunities

The companies majority of them are core focused where some other software related companies also enter but getting an intership is tough thing as there is again competition and the person must well skilled to earn it

Placement Experience

The placements in ju is has been good over the past years but as the years gradually go by its getting harder to get good paying jobs due to competition as well as less preference by companies so it is decent

Fees and Financial Aid

every year we pay semester wise which depends on the subject and per semester is like almost 70 rupees also we have to pay almost 9000 rupees for the entire 4 year course as i belong to the st cateogary so it was less for me during the admission process for IT(information Technology) btech course the fees is around 1.5 lakhs i havent alloted for any schorlarships or financial aid as my father works in the indian coast guard in defence

Campus Life

Yes it is definitely a very active college in terms of sports or other co curricular activites and one can really look into other aspects to his career options during his or her course the presence of various clubs and the diversity of culture just erouses it

Admission

I gave WBJEE solemly because of Jadavpur University as it was the best university in West Bengal in terms of fee structure and other things as well the great thing about it is that the fact that you get to know so many experiences instead of just studying makes you understand about life more better

Faculty

The professors over here are kind and really dont care much about things but definitely there are exceptions but overall the faculty is good and well earned the thing about exams is that its perfectly fine with each year consisting of 2 semesters but the system of conducting class tests in between gets a little hectic

Night Life

In the night the campus is active and gets wholesome especially during the winters as there are many places in the campus where you can just chill over or relieve your stress be it mental or physical so definitely a very arousing campus

Honest opinion about my college(AOT)

Placement Experience:

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements and there are plenty of companies that come like in my branch there 35-40 companies (core) came and no of offers were 30.Placement percentage was around 95%.Median package was around 7.5lpa and highest was 15lpa.Well my plans are not decided yet, currently in my 2nd year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
