Course Curriculum Overview
The fact that the specializations offered are so many and from a variety of different aspects to choose from really helped me make my decision The course has specific integrations with IBM through their program and so we are taught diverese tools like powerBI, Talend, Tableau and many more. Some aspects of the course become repeated after sometime, like learning Buisness Intelligence and then also Data Warehousing makes the content repetetive. The exams are how much you study for them, if you spend more time on studies you will definetly find it easier and make it easily past the exams.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies like Dell, Schrodinger and others visit the campus specifically for interns, but you are usually on your own looking for internships, the college does ultimately get you into IBM if you cannot land an internship, but thats like doing a project. Also the college has a social internship program at the end of first year.
Placement Experience
The placement process the year before the previous year was quite good, 100% of the students were placed, many in good companies like Microsoft, deloitte and DE Shaw, but it fell of last year because the student quality wasn't good enough for many employeers, this lead to the campus launching a program using the AMCAT examination, whereof students were segregated into 3 groups, ALPHA, BETA and GAMMA, students in ALPHA (good at coding) were given the best opportunities and students in GAMMA the least, with BETA become the intermediatry, around 200 students in alpha and that raised to 1200 students in GAMMA. The average package offered for Computer Science is 6-8LPA and the best being 50LPA offered by microsoft and 48LPA by Cred.
Fees and Financial Aid
I pay 2,25,000/ semester. It increases and training fees and other stuff is also added to fees. Tuition fees: 1,50,000 Registration fees: 1,00,000 Other fees: 88,000(includes development fees, lab fees and the other fees compulsory fees of my course) The other courses are also well and pretty pricey like design-4.94lakhs/year, engineering-4.91lakhs/year-20-21lakhs total fees, law and etc. Domacile fees, Sports, Alumni, Academic, Employee ward scholarships for students having 90+ merits.
Campus Life
Campus life is fun, i think wherever you go you will make the friends you want and ultimately have a good college life. There is one main annual event called urja and a sports event called spandan having almost all sports, urja has usally a big artist last year it was Darshan Rawal. The library is state of the art, one of the best ones in the country. Everything else is same as that of other colleges
Admission
The reason for me choosin this college was because its close to home and the course content offered was diverese. The university is also quite famous and many of my peers and family friend also recommended it. The college has about the same fee structure as other private universities. The teachers are good and well learned, the atmosphere is also good for studies but sometimes its very easy here to get lost in the whole "college life" shabang. The atmosphere outside college is very polluted and toxic. Sometimes the deadlines pushed are very drastic and the workload is very high. The reason i couldn't make it to other colleges is because i didnt crack the entrace exam, and wasnt able to qualify for a seat, also from the choices i had, this one was the one closest to home and where i had people i already knew or people who had been to it. There isnt a stressed exam process, most people who appear from the exam called "UPESEAT" qualify for the college. The admission process is quite simple although this easy exam makes the college full of people.
Faculty
There are many faculties for each course and for different specializations. The faculty is very helpful and knowledgeable and always helps with the right guidance and mentorships for projects and other work. The faculties are very approachable and helpful even after working hours, they always help with our queries. I have no faculties that I did not like but my physics professor in the first semester was very strict and gave very less marks in exams. There are internal assesments every course, mid semester exam and end semester exam every semester. The exams not moderate to difficult. For labs vivas our conducted and continuous evaluation occurs. Many students fail the exams, The course curriculum is pretty vast but can be made better.
Night Life
Usually most places close after 12, some do remain open till 2, but its very silent after 12, usually you see no more than 10-20 people roaming. There are a lot of gyms with a good gym atmosphere, a lot of places to eat and places to chilll. The timings for hostel are 8pm but you are allowed to roam around inside campus till 12. A famous hangout place near is Chai Sutta Bar.
