Course Curriculum Overview

2

I was predetermined to pick CSE so the curriculum did not influence me much but the major drawbacks i see in this college is outdated syllabus for instance teaching civil to a cse student in the first yr instead of C programming ( i am in V sem and yet have not found C in my curriculum) I have been through a lot of non IT subjects such as Electrical, Electronics, DLD , COA, Mechanics,Civil which i believe is not an compulsory requirement than a core syllabus as of now lanugages thought as PY Java on a basic level and execution of lab program in subjects like os & daa are in C which is not even thought in the college The teachers do not have complete knowlede on the subject they come and read the ppt provided and end up giving improtant questions and award excepptionally great scores to not face any cross questioning from both students and management The college must change a lot of teachers if it wants better results and students to be industry ready Exams are well timed but the semester runs just for 3 months and its paced fast and adds burden

Placement Experience

1

from VI sem students with a cgpa of above 6.5 and proper attendance above 75% and having no backlogs can attend for placements but there are not many oppurtunities for everyone to get placed a bare minimum companies visit the campus and mostly heard names are tcs, wipro and a few more. with my recent encounter to a VII sem senior it is told that only 3 students were placed from the college end but rest of them were not and are still not sure of them being placed, its totally not said to trust the college for placements as its not reliable and try outside for faster changes of success my plans after my degree is to try for jobs outside but i prefer doing job search in VII sem only

Fees and Financial Aid

The college in fee aspects is very offerdable when i joined in 2022 i had paid around 2.25L (without any extra donations) and did not opt for hostel which will be another (1.5L if chosen) There are scholarship oppertunities for students on the basis of merit but mostly are not offered if offered too it will end up based on category of the student

Campus Life

2

The college does not held any fests like other established college if expectations are there then its a total dissapointment and there is a library which is vast but not all books you wish to see are available only the course referecne books that teachers suggest are available in college library No sports are seperately encouraged but if you wish to play you just can in your personal intrests No ragging is done in the college the college is a safe & secure environment

Admission

Honestly I joined this college cause of it fee which is quite less and easily managable for a middle class family. Comparing to the other I wanted to join which were on top were New horizon could not make it as it charged about 25L for just 1st yr and them 4L for rest 3yrs which is vv costly and a lot of hidden fee which are not there in CMRU(2.25L college fee and 2.5K sem end fee ) New horizon did not have great reviews amongst the seniors whom i enquired I also wanted to join Amrita college in banglore only but could not make it as they needed 85% in 12th boards which i did not get through

Faculty

2

There are decent amount of faculty you can say 30 students to 1 faculty is how the management is allocated to solve the student grievence there are no faculty that I currently like as they have left the college a semester ago but if i had to choose i will prefer Dr. Naresh (phy department) who has thought me phy in my 2nd sem and yet is still friendly toward the students along the journey guiding them forward There are quite a few teachers you can approach for help but not definite that your issue will be solved it might also happen you lost you way just cause you have met them so its must to recheck who you meet The faculty I dont like a lot dont want to pick names but most lie in the core subject department such as OS, COA, DAA who dont teach concept nor award marks but just make students run around them and make a fool Talking of exam there are 2 iats (internals) & 2 assignments per subject in the semester then the semester exam to pass all of this its very easy if you read the important questions provided in the day prior to exam and having better friend circle can fetch that questions to you much quickerbut the submission of 2 assignments prior to deadline will help in maintaining a minimum score if read important question along with in time assignment submissions and for sem proper revision of both iat papers and a few important topics can make a slow learner with proper revision fetch 8sgpa

Night Life

1

The college is situated very far from the city in an area called bagalur and its typically a village area nothing much will be available there and from the college to the busstop there is no option but to walk for about a 1km to the busstop and the BMTC is available all the time mostly frequent To hangout plp mostly go out from the campus there is not much you can do in the campus as there is just one canteen block and serves same items all the time. coming to night life in college (not a hostler but i know) the hostlers are not allowed to walk out in the campus also after 6.00pm no matter waht its like a locked prision there is a gym but its available to students only in the afternoon times and equipped with decent workout equipments

Placement Experience:

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities

The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice
