Factors That Influenced My Decision The curriculum emphasizes core engineering subjects, structured progression from basic to advanced topics, and alignment with a recognized university framework. The presence of laboratory courses, mini-projects, and electives also influenced my decision, as they provide exposure beyond theoretical learning. Preparation for Real-World Applications and Higher Studies The curriculum provides a solid theoretical foundation, which is helpful for competitive exams, higher studies, and understanding advanced concepts. However, for real-world industry applications, students need to supplement classroom learning with self-study, internships, and online resources. Practical exposure exists but can be expanded further. Areas for Improvement Updating subjects more frequently to match current industry trends Increasing the weightage of hands-on projects, case studies, and practical assignments Adopting more interactive teaching methods, such as problem-based learning and real-time industry examples Reducing excessive theory and promoting skill-oriented learning Exam Frequency and Difficulty The academic system follows a semester pattern with: Two internal assessments per semester One final semester-end examination The exams are moderate in difficulty. Fees and Financial Aid

at ms ramaiah institute of technology, the yearly tuition fees range from around 2.5L for government quota students to 9-10L for managment quota students. SC/ST students pay minimal fees as per government norms. apart from tuition, students pay addtional charges like admission, registration, development, lab, library and cuation fees, mainly in the first year. the total cost for 4 years B.E programs ranges from 10-11L (Government quota) to 40L+ (Management quota). the fees generally increase slightly every year. multiple government and merit based scholorships such as SSP, merti cum need and minority scholorships are available to eligible students.

Annual & Technical Festivals Ramaiah Habba – The main annual cultural fest, usually held in March–April. It includes cultural performances, music events, dance, fashion shows, and celebrity nights, attracting students from many colleges. Technovation – The technical fest, generally conducted between February–March. It features technical competitions, hackathons, workshops, paper presentations, and quizzes, which are helpful for skill development and peer interaction. These festivals play a major role in improving social bonding and campus vibrancy. ???? Library Facilities The central library is well-stocked and easily accessible: A wide range of textbooks, reference books, competitive exam materials Access to national and international journals, research papers, and e-resources Digital library facilities and reading halls The library supports both academic coursework and higher studies preparation. ????? Hostel Facility Experience – Ratan Tata Hostel, MSRIT I currently stay at the Ratan Tata Hostel, which is one of the on-campus hostels of MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Overall, my hostel experience has been comfortable, safe, and convenient, especially because of its proximity to academic blocks. ????? Room & Facilities Provided Shared rooms (mostly double/triple sharing) Bed, study table, chair, cupboard Ceiling fan and sufficient lighting Common washrooms (cleaned regularly) 24×7 water supply Wi-Fi connectivity (average but usable) Regular housekeeping in common areas The rooms are basic but functional, suitable for student life. ????? Meal Quality & Mess Menu Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner provided Menu includes South Indian staples (idli, dosa, rice, sambar) and North Indian items (roti, sabzi, dal) Quality is average and hygienic, not restaurant-like Food is filling and affordable, though it can feel repetitive Overall, the mess is good enough for daily needs, and many students occasionally eat outside for variety. ???? Hostel Registration Process & Affordability Registration Process: Hostel allotment is done during college admission Application through college administration Rooms allotted based on availability and year of study Fees : ?1.75 lakh per year (including mess, varies slightly by room type) Considering the location, safety, and facilities, the hostel is reasonably priced compared to nearby PGs. ???? Safety & Discipline Strict entry/exit timings Security guards and wardens available Safe environment, especially for first-year students Rules are strict but ensure discipline and safety

Why I Chose This College Over Other Options I am currently a 1st-year B.E. Chemical Engineering student at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT). My decision to join MSRIT was based on a combination of academic reputation, placements, location, and long-term career opportunities, especially when compared with the other colleges I applied to. Colleges I Applied To & Admission Outcomes Colleges I Applied To: MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology BMS College of Engineering RV College of Engineering A few other COMEDK/KCET-affiliated private engineering colleges in Karnataka Confirmed Admission: MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology – Chemical Engineering Why I Chose MSRIT Over Others: MSRIT has a better overall reputation for core engineering branches compared to many private colleges. The placement record and alumni network are stronger, even for non-CS branches. The Bengaluru location provides exposure to internships, industrial visits, and technical events. Compared to some colleges where I could have gotten admission, MSRIT offered a better balance of academics, peer quality, and opportunities. Rejections / Colleges I Couldn’t Make It To I was not able to secure admission in top-tier colleges like RV College of Engineering due to higher cutoff ranks, especially for Chemical Engineering. The main reasons were: High competition in entrance exams like COMEDK/KCET A rank slightly below the cutoff for those colleges This was not due to eligibility issues, but purely due to cutoff constraints and seat availability. The approximate faculty to student ratio is around 1:15-20, which is decent for an engineering college. faculty members are generally approachable during class hours and office hours. students who show interest in academics, project, or placement usually receive better members are available if students take the inititative.

Night Life

Nightlife In & Around the MSRIT Campus The nightlife around MSRIT is calm, safe, and student-friendly rather than flashy. Students mostly unwind through late-evening hangouts, food outings, gym sessions, and group discussions after classes. Campus, Hostel & Facility Timings Campus closing: Academic blocks usually close by 7:30–8:00 PM Library: Typically open till 8:00 PM on working days Cafeteria / Canteen: Closes by 7:00–7:30 PM Gym (college): Evening slot till around 7:00 PM Hostel entry: Usually 9:30–10:00 PM (strict on weekdays) Public areas inside campus: Limited access late night Because of these timings, most nightlife happens outside the campus. RVCE is known for its Placement oppertunity itself .Students get eligible after 5th or 6th semester.
