Dislikes
- Although the college is reputed, the campus is small, and infrastructure feels crowded, epscially during peak hours. hostel and parking facilities are limited.
- The management quota fees very high comapred to the facilites provided, which may not feel fully justified for all students.
- While some teachers are excellent, not all faculty members are equally engaging. teeaching quality can very signficantly from one professor to another.

The presence of laboratory courses, mini-projects, and electives also influenced my decision, as they provide exposure beyond theoretical learning. Preparation for Real-World Applications and Higher Studies The curriculum provides a solid theoretical foundation, which is helpful for competitive exams, higher studies, and understanding advanced concepts. However, for real-world industry applications, students need to supplement classroom learning with self-study, internships, and online resources. Practical exposure exists but can be expanded further. SC/ST students pay minimal fees as per government norms. apart from tuition, students pay addtional charges like admission, registration, development, lab, library and cuation fees, mainly in the first year. the total cost for 4 years B.E programs ranges from 10-11L (Government quota) to 40L+ (Management quota). the fees generally increase slightly every year. multiple government and merit based scholorships such as SSP, merti cum need and minority scholorships are available to eligible students.

Meal Quality & Mess Menu Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner provided Menu includes South Indian staples (idli, dosa, rice, sambar) and North Indian items (roti, sabzi, dal) Quality is average and hygienic, not restaurant-like Food is filling and affordable, though it can feel repetitive Overall, the mess is good enough for daily needs, and many students occasionally eat outside for variety. ???? My decision to join MSRIT was based on a combination of academic reputation, placements, location, and long-term career opportunities, especially when compared with the other colleges I applied to. Colleges I Applied To & Admission Outcomes Colleges I Applied To: MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology BMS College of Engineering RV College of Engineering A few other COMEDK/KCET-affiliated private engineering colleges in Karnataka Confirmed Admission: MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology – Chemical Engineering Why I Chose MSRIT Over Others: MSRIT has a better overall reputation for core engineering branches compared to many private colleges. The placement record and alumni network are stronger, even for non-CS branches. The Bengaluru location provides exposure to internships, industrial visits, and technical events. Compared to some colleges where I could have gotten admission, MSRIT offered a better balance of academics, peer quality, and opportunities. Rejections / Colleges I Couldn’t Make It To I was not able to secure admission in top-tier colleges like RV College of Engineering due to higher cutoff ranks, especially for Chemical Engineering. The main reasons were: High competition in entrance exams like COMEDK/KCET A rank slightly below the cutoff for those colleges This was not due to eligibility issues, but purely due to cutoff constraints and seat availability. The approximate faculty to student ratio is around 1:15-20, which is decent for an engineering college. faculty members are generally approachable during class hours and office hours. students who show interest in academics, project, or placement usually receive better members are available if students take the inititative.

Students mostly unwind through late-evening hangouts, food outings, gym sessions, and group discussions after classes.
