Course Curriculum Overview

3

Coming to english hons I had a little different expectations and this turned out to be a little different, This course is too much till where I have studied is inclined towards literature which sometimes students do not like. There are many subjects inside the core, but subjects like literary studies caught lot of attention due to it's attractiveness and different perspectives. Sometimes things go a lot off syllabus which disrupts mindful learning but thankgod it's just 30-40% of it.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college's placement cell is very active and many internships are offered to students of all years, paid and unpaid and in different fields for different courses too. The average internship stipend which I noticed is around RS15,000 per month for students and from different certified companies for eg , a recent one was offered by Park+ As Eng hons students we get lots of projects for content writing to enhance our experience. The overall working of the internship opportunities is amazing

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for my course is 12,000 INR. Freeship is also available for students whose parents' salary is below 8 lakhs per annum to help them financially. The fees for foreign students in my class is 21,800 INR. The fees for students with disabilities is just 155 INR.

Campus Life

5

The annual and technical festivals are the best part of this college, the annual fest is held around February-March, and another festival is held around Diwali when other students come to our college to participate in different competitions. The library is so big and full of books from every department, and there is an e-library too for students where there are so many laptops and computers with internet facilities which any student can use for free, and accessible to all. The classrooms are bit worn out in the old building but a new is also constructed and has very beautiful classrooms with very large space. Sports is also offered to students who want to participate and the College has NCC too for students.

Admission

I got this college in my second round, in my first round I got german hons. in the north campus department of Delhi university, but my parents wanted me to do a secure enough course so my second preference was english hons., and I got admitted to Maitreyi College, from the starting it has been a good experience. I chose this college over others since, many colleges are too hectic with classes and I someone who likes extracurriculars and this college provides the perfect balance between them when I talked to my other friends, who are from North-campus or off-campus colleges. CUET is accepted only for getting admitted to the college, and for my year the cutoff was 681/800 in the second round.

Faculty

4

The faculty is the best part here, they are way too approachable and knowledgeable in themselves too, the English department is also really nice with teaching and the speed of syllabus is on pace and not to slow or fast. They teach us answer writing skills and words from basics too since we are new students. They also take frequent IA and CA tests which mark our level. The course curriculum being in the first year is a bit difficult to comprehend but with those teachers we are able to do it.

Night Life

4

The locality is a little unsafe to go out at night since near girls colleges more crimes are prone to happen, plus being in Delhi itself no place is 'so safe' for females, the library closes at 8:00PM so it is very accessible for everyone to use that. Students can go to Chanakya mall or Satya Niketan if they want to go very close for hangout.

Other Applied Colleges

Did not opt for this since the course is being closed down now for future!

Course Curriculum Overview:

university of delhi have have started compulsory of courses such as VAC ,SEC and many other skill enhancement courses so that you not only rely upon your degree but you enhance your Interpersonal Skills , Communication Skills ,Speaking Skills as in future all jobs and placements are skill based not degree based so for enhanceing and developing a good personality these courses played a major role. The timings of examination were between 2,30-5,30 Pm 3 hours exam water facility was provided during the exam tenure. If in case you forgot to attend or submit your either of IA/CA you may get an essential repeat er even iof you pass in the written exam .

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
