Course Curriculum Overview

3

course curriclum of overall engineering i bileive is not at all practical and just typical old model. b ut the new branches like ai and ml, rai are focusing in new things but still the traditional curriculum sucks

Internships Opportunities

3

interships are provided in 3 year and they are paid. companies like jp morgan and microsoft are also there but they take very less students like 2 or 3 only but they provide the pay in lakhs. overall the number is on lesser side comparing to the overall college strength

Placement Experience

3

like placements are decent but good in computer branches. seniors are getting it and good companies are visiting campus and rewcruiting in decent amount but less in terms of strength of overall college strength. the placement scene starts from 3 year with internships

Fees and Financial Aid

overall tiet is good, it is one of the most prominent institutes in the country but like every college and my personal reviews it has pros and cons. talking about hostels it is good like infra and food. but there is transport issues like the classes and histeks are a little far and e- rickshaws or cycles are the option and it is on your luck if get a rickshaw or not. in terms of faculty it is very good. in terms of environment it is chill and vibe is great but lack of seriousness. markets are great and food and pricing is decent there with good ambience but you will always see a lot of couples there. attendance policy is sometimes annoying like you need to keep it atleast 75% otherwise they will detain you. and also the number of events is good but a little lack management and not punctuality. also they distract and waste time causing hurry and affecting exam performance. fee is not justified

Campus Life

3

overall experience is a mix like infra is good but classes are far away from hostel and transport facility is a little problamatic. markets and evening vibe is good. also college has a good location and nearby restraunts and markets are also good

Hostel Facilities

4

hostel fee is ok and facilities like laundry food and mess including night is good. menu changes less that is the disliked thing but food quality is good affordability is decent and ac rooms are there but less for 1st years

Admission

my jee score was in 70s and i couldn't get to gov colleges as i am sadly of general category and this college has better reputation and rankings than other options like upes or cu who took everybody irrespective of marks and also the placement history is far better than others

Faculty

4

faculty is good in terms of knowledge and some are good in behaviour some not. but in terms of behaviour it is a personal thing like comeone like or not. i believe some are rude like that of manufacturing or ed department. exams are there and schedulte is hectic like 2 times in a year for each subject and then projectand practical work and two sessionals for each subject. checking is very strict

Night Life

3

nightlife is good like overnight events are there in decent amount and hostels and campus have night mess which is also decent and have a littkle interesting food options. views are good library closes at 8 pm gyms are there but in okaish condition. cafetarias are good and price is justified there

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
