Remarks

Not bad so far, it was one of the best years of my life living in LSR. I have had the best moments with the best of people. I was the happiest I've ever been, the saddest and the most lost I've ever been.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Though Lady Shri Ram College is known best for most of the courses they offer, still it was a great experience to be a part of the English Literature department of LSR. The course English Literature doesn't mugging power and calculative minds, it demands an intellectual mind and even more intellectual environment. Be it, Profs, Asst Profs, mentors or infrastructure itself, everything is so cooperative with students. Though we MA students are only expected to be present for the classes once a week still, we get all kind of accessibility. Lady Shri Ram provides a better, more liberal and thoughtful environment to the students where students can grow as in-person and well as professionally. Days without classes are never boring because then you get to sit under the trees, reading a favorite book and watching birds flying their home at dusk.

Placement Experience

5

Since I've done masters from Lady Shri Ram College, I couldn't get the perks of placement cells of LSR. Further, in January 2019, an LSR student pursuing BA(Hons) in Economic has bagged 38lakh pa for entry role in India with international banks. In terms of placement opportunities, LSR has always topped the list along with SRCC, Stephens.

College Events

5

So, there is an annual cultural fest of LSR which TARANG. Delhi University starts its colleges' annual fests from LSR. TARANG is a huge annual fest of 3days takes place mostly on the first three days of February of every year. There are many events organized by dance society, western music society, Indian music society, dram soc, fine arts society, literary society, debsoc, and much more creative society.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of Lady Shri College for Women for Master degree in any course is 1st year - Rs.18500 + Rs.710(Examination fee of Sem1) + Rs.710(Examination fee of Sem2) 2nd year - Rs.13500 + Rs.710(Examination fee of Sem3) + Rs.710(Examination fee of Sem4)

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't opted for any scholarship or education low to complete my Master degree in English Literature.

Campus Life

5

In concern of gender ratio, Lady Shri Ram College is only for Women. About extracurricular activities, as I mentioned above, LSR is rich in culture. We have Dance Society which practices rigorously to bring out the best from its team. We have Fine arts society which tops all the fine arts societies in DU, it is one the most colorful society which also questions and improves one's way of living. We have western music society when they perform you will feel like you are sitting in opera, from blues to pop to jazz they play all. There is debate society, dramatic society, their talks, sessions, and plays have the power not only to influence the audience but also to sensitize them.

Alumni/Alumna

Lady Shri Ram has given the best authors, actors, directors and corporate women. Every year, in annual fest we get to meet some of the other alumni who have done really well in their lives and made LSR proud of them. Their lectures guide a thousand aspirants.

Admission

I have done M.A. in English from Lady Shri Ram College which is a master degree in English Literature. Lady Shri Ram College is one of the best and reputed colleges of Delhi University. Students pursuing masters from DU belong more to the University and less to the allotted college. To pursue masters from DU, there are two criteria, either you clear the Delhi University Entrance Test(DUET) organized by NTA or you get through the merit list. The number of seats for master degree in Delhi University has divided two categories, 50% for the merit list and 50% for the DUET. One can apply through merit list only if he/she is graduate from Delhi University. Delhi university graduates, who scored very well in their graduation should also apply through entrance test as well so that if in case their names do not appear in the merit list they will still have chance to clear entrance test to get admission. Hence, applying through both the categories is the perk you get as a DU graduate. Merit list and Entrance Test(DUET) both release several cut offs, students, get allotted with colleges according to their total aggregate secured in graduation/marks of entrance test as well as their college preferences. This admission process gets the start in last week of July of every year, where the applicants need to register their application online in the month of June of every year and Delhi University Entrance Test takes place in the very first week of July of every year. I got Lady Shri Ram College through merit list, in the second cut off, I found my name in the list and didn't wait for anything to be the part of English Department, Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of Lady Shri Ram College is one the best amongst all the colleges of DU. There are thousands of doors open for the students in LSR to take part in and explore, academical societies, cultural societies, library faculty, and everything. you can visit the college campus including the library even in holidays.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
