Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is not very useful in my views. Except for English none of them are up to date. For example in computing course, we study c language instead of cpp. Also in maths, the calculus is the topic and in exams marks are alloted on the basis of well one wrote in the sheet and it isn't the best method to calculate answer.

Internships Opportunities

4

So regarding scholarships and internships I do t know much as I am a first year student yet in my first semester. And mostly students get internship after 2ñd year. So I won't be able to provide some subsequential information.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently a student at IIT ropar and I feel that it's a great college. In every aspect it has a lot of potential and is growing on a yearly basis. The college fees is also not really high considering the smartphone facilities that we get. I even feel that it's just a little too amazing to get all of these for the fees I paid. It's about 2 lakhs per annum, but it's really worth it for the quality education and also the several amazing features of IITs. Along with that just in case someone still is unable to afford then they also have option of scholarships. IIT provides several merit based sponsorship. Also many private companies also sell our college to provide scholarship to some of the brightest minds of our country. In my opinion it's increasing every year and it's not decreasing. Hence I feel that my college is one of the best colleges and would love to be a student here for next 4 years, learn many more things and experience some of the best moments of my life. Overall I feel that the facilities make the fees worth it.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience in the campus yet of now is just amazing. Its fun to enjoy the campus views specially at night, let it be alone or with frnds. Also the campus has a big library with a huge amount of books, including study books and journals and even leisure books. We also have a badminton court at the back of every hostel building and a dual tennis court at the back of seniors hostle. Even there is sports complex with ground for many outdoor sports. That's not all, as we also have table tennis tables in our hostels.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facilities are good. The hostel rooms get cleaned every day and also provides access to clean washrooms. We also have water coolers at every floors and lift as well. The food in the mess is also something I like to eak, and the nutrition provides is more than sufficient.

Admission

I got this college from josaa allotment. I also applied for IIT Guwahati in ece branch above my current branch and college. But due my rank being more than req, I was unable to get it. But thinking about my college, it's pretty good in all aspects such as research, an amazing fest such as Zeitgeist and all.

Faculty

4

In the first semester we have a course for calculus, one for chemistry for engineering, one is c programming, English and the last is engineering drawing. The faculty is very approachable and we can ask doubt in class, ashtray class, and even online. Maths hold 3 credit, same for English. Engineering drawing gives 1.5 crredit and chemistry has

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
