IIT Ropar is a remarkable college!

IITs are dream of every student who takes science after 10th. Maths and Physics were my subjects and I always wanted to have a firm in coding. Thus, I took this course and as soon as I got selected for IITs through JEE counselling. Our course CSE in every single IITs is same and therefore we might be low on rankings but our program is same.

Google, NVIDIA and likewise many others who are planning to have their setup in Punjab are already hiring a lot of people from our college. So, placements median so far is close or a shade above 10 but obviously it will grow to 20 till our turn comes.

IIT Ropar is one of the newly opened IIT and great that our Punjab too now have an IIT. The fees here depends upon like for general category it's 1.43 lakhs and for SC/ST students it's 14350. Which is 1/10th of what general category students pay. Also in OBC if the family income is below 1 lakh they too have to pay the same and if it is more than 1 lakh their fees is 47680.

It's a beautiful and big campus spread in over 500 acres of land. We don't have that many buildings like apart from academic blocks we have four boys hostel buildings and 3 girls hostel buildings. Boys hostel is near the PG Block. Many participants of various IITs and other engineer colleges are called during our techno fest Advitiya. Since last year our tech and cultural event are held together to attract more and more students.

There are four hostels in total for boys and with lesser rooms in each and that makes hostels spacious. Also, our hostels are amazing as we have a lot of fun and can use hostels facilities like the common room and all till night as long as we want. Also there are 2 mess and we can chose among them.

Eligibility for every single IITs is through JEE. For students who are in top 5000 in general category gets a call for IITs. Since I was a little low in rank, I was left with fewer choices 2nd gen IITs. So, IIT Guwahati and IIT Gandhinagar were two IITs from where I got admission offer but since IIT Ropar was in my state, i took admission here.

At IIT Ropar, our principal too is a professor and likewise all the high level professors are the ones who have been hired here to teach. Professors from Bangalore, Hyderabad and such cities are here to ensure that students fine the best and able faculties to learn from. We certainly have many professors whom I can say are best but if my experience wants me to name one i would say Professor Das.

The nearest hangout city from our college is Chandigarh and nearest hangout spot is Satluj River Area. Sit by the river and have some peace as to keep in best mental state, it's mandatory. Also we have a few good cafes near our restaurant like Lili Mortal for authentic Punjabi Food and Bakyard to have some junk food.
