Dislikes
- Curriculum is quite rigorous and you don't have anything easy here
- Fees is bit on the higher side of the spectrum. So not everybody can afford it even though we can take education loans
- A lot of space in campus is wasted at the moment. So if it is also brought to use that would be awesome
Course Curriculum Overview
I am an MSc mathematics dualite . The maths curriculum has everything from the abstract part of maths to the ones which are needed in fields of machine learning etc . So that intrigued me a lot. These fields are sometimes so rigorous that the future stuff may seem quite easy to us . Slides and ppt are used alongside blackboards as well and it varies professors to professors. Exams are mostly held every month be it quizzes or mids etc. you need to just beforehand in order to score above the competition
Internships Opportunities
Bits has the PS program under which we are allotted companies through our CGPA and some interviews as well. Many companies visit our campus for it and they offer roles like Sde , hardware intern , financial analyst etc. Stipend varies from 50k to over 3 lakhs but average is around 85000
Placement Experience
Placement are great in the college with one of the highest median packages in india. So there is placement unit which places Student from 4th year onwards. You also have the Summer internship or the bits exclusive practice school internship which can land you a PPO as well. Companies like Google , Amazon , apple , Uber visit regularly. Highest packege is in crores and average is around 20 lakhs. Percent of student getting placed is above ninety percent. i also want to get in one of the FAANG companies

Campus Life
Social life is great at the campus . We have three fests ATMOS the tech fest , ARENA the sports fest and PEARL the cultural fest and they are held in October , February and April respectively. Library is quite big and you can either self study or immerse yourself in the variety of books to read. Classrooms have a centralised ac and have screens in each of them . Sports culture is great and you can play almost any game . There are variety of clubs or department you can join so there is absolutely no shortage of opportunities
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are mandatory here. We are allotted hostels according to the year we are in. We get a table , chair , almirah , bed and a whiteboard. Rooms are either single or double sharing and you have two washroom spots in a floor with 10 bathroom and washroom cubicles. There are two messes and menu is generally shuffled quite often . Mess food is good and you certainly won't get bored very easily as you have various food outlets as well
Admission
Bits is a very reputed brand amongst the Indian colleges and I wanted to study maths alongside cs . I had the option of doing electrical engineering in dtu but bits just intrigued me a bit more. The admission process is simple. You have a bitsat exam held twice and you are allotted branches according to it. Course structure of exam is bits easier than jee and cutoffs vary every year bits expect to score above 70 percent to get cse
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio varies per subject and it can anywhere from 80:1 to 40:1 . We have chamber consultation hours to interact with the faculty and you can always mail them as well. Some department like economic or physics just have amazing professors. Maths department is bit strict and known for its strict grading. There are two quizzes or assignment held alongside the midsems and comprehend examination. Course curriculum is quite relevant to the current job scenario
