Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is the same as maintained in iits and nits. I'm all the government colleges, it is the same. I myself have compared our course with other college students like nits and all and then it turned out to be the same

Internships Opportunities

3

I'm not very aware of that but there are very good internship opportunities for everyone. Just maintain your cgpa and that's it you'll land in a decent kind of internship. Many people got internship at Google and Microsoft

Placement Experience

2

There are placement opportunities which are decent but I would suggest you go for off campus placements. Off campus placements will offer you a good salary as compared to on campus placements. But if your cgpa is nice then you'll land into a decent placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tezpur University has fee of 52k and provides a lot of opportunities. We have a Google development students club as well which later helps getting internships in Google itself. TU has a decent placement cell which is improving every year. There is scholarship based on merit as well as bpl.

Campus Life

3

We have different types of clubs like robotics, astronomy, music, dance and many more. Every club is active and moreover btech students get more different kinds of club offered by private companies so u can join one easily. Hostels are very good and food is also decent

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is really good. Mess food is hygienic and you can yourself run the mess as well. Rooms are two or three seaters and you can even change hostels and the bathrooms are clean and neat. It is good.

Admission

Firstly a government college is always a government college. It is better than spending lakhs of money in a private college. Here you can complete your btech degree same as the one you could get in nit in just 3 to 4 lakhs which is cheap. And education is good here.

Faculty

4

The faculty staff is very good. They are very much Helpful and really support us in every way. They motivate us for future entrances and how we can engage in projects and placements and internships and what skills we can develop.

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.
