Malda Medical College At a Glance

Current MBBS curriculum is so relevant in the present scenario , It gives us opportunity for early clinical exposure, many recent study designs , video audio mode study , helps us to be familiar with practical life experience while handling patients , It also provides great scope to learn from seniors . Area which should be improved is to recruit more numbers of faculties and each student should be sent to wards and opds from the very beginning to build confidence.

Here we are entitled with the opportunity to gain experience from malda medical College and hospital for internship, Here we have to handle patients, give round with senior doctors , basic monitoring, taking overall care of patients.

Admission fee is 6.5k & there are total 9 semester,.1st sem fee is included within admission i.e 4500&rest of the sems costs 36k ,same for all categories. Hostel fee 12/month.Course duration is of 5.5 years. Per semester we have to pay . 1st year - 3 sems 2nd year -2 sem 3rd year part 1-2sem 3rd year part 2 - 2sem

Each festival like new year celebration, Holi , saraswati puja , rakhi purnima, Ramjan , Eid , Good Friday , independence day , cultural fest , Teacher's day , rakhi purnima , mahalaya , Diwali , Dussera , Christmas day are celebrated here We are given the access of our central Library where there are all kinds of medical books from indian as well as foreign author and so many famous international journals also A playground is there where football tournament, cricket tournament, tug of war , are organised Many social projects are often run by clg like blood donation camp , rural health camp , Drug awareness programme in collaboration with other colleges, menstrual health hygiene program etc.

We are provided a room for three or two persons for upto 3rd year part 2 and then we are allotted single room in internship. A bed , matress , study table and a chair and almirah is provided to us We have to pay 12 per month for residency in hostel and separate meal charge from canteen 2100/month and it's variable. MBBS curriculum admission is totally based on rank in NEET exam and WEST BENGAL MEDICAL COUNSELING AUTHORITY. I obtained 564 out of 700 (AIR 38680),& Based on state counseling filled my choices of college . Here I got malda medical College in my 2nd counseling ( 1st counseling -MJN medical College coochbehar) .

There are 9semester exam in college and 4 professional exams from University of WBUHS. If we can pass in semester exam , we are allowed to sit for University exam in end of that year. Also there are internals and part completion tests in college which depends on the college and respective faculties. This exam is not too easy or too hard. Continuous study is needed to crack easily and gain good marks, 3or 4 students may fail per professional exam and they are reevaluated by supple exam Our curriculum is competency based medical education pattern . It's is very effective in creating a smart study idea.
