What Students Say
Likes
- The amenities were good although they were not always available.
- The opportunities provided by the college were of great help for career building and certifications
- Interactive teachers and the way of teaching was very interesting and mostly digital saving the hectic paperwork
Dislikes
- The classes were not fixed for my course BMMMC and we had to switch classrooms a lot of times even after the lecture had started.
- The timetable had huge gaps in between classes making the day very exhausting and draining.
- The course fee ofcourse was way too high for majority of the class and you need a proper system like a good laptop, camera and stuff to be able to do your assignment before deadline.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is good and helpful without any doubt. It has a lot of jargons which might be a hurdle for the students at first but with clear understanding and efforts you can easily tackle it. Also, the practicals were always so fun.
Internships Opportunities
The placement cell of IPCW was very active. They engaged with the CRs of every course regularly and provided opportunities for internship to students. Most of the internships were from the corporate companies especially in sales, marketing and HR but almost none of them provided a fixed stipend although sone of them did offer stipend based on performance only to the top 10 interns.
Fees and Financial Aid
My course was BMMMC bachelor of Mass media and mass communication in IPCW - Indraprastha college for women, civil lines. The yearly fee was around 1.4L for the first year, and I am not sure but I think that it was different for those with reservations.
Campus Life
There were numerous fests in the college especially for my course making it a fun experience. The Library is well built, very comfortable and provided a peaceful place for studying with wide range of books for every domain. The sports and other clubs were also top notch and regular interviews were held to recruit the best of the best students for each club making it very competitive yet fulfilling.
Admission
I applied to all the north campus colleges for psychology hons and journalism but this was my top choice because i had an interest in media communications since I was a child. I did not get rejected by any other college because I got my first choice in first list itself but talking about criteria, it is mostly first come first serve. If you are an academic achiever who scored over 90 in 10+2 and over 85% on your CUET, your chances might get affected only by mere choice of courses in the preference list. So make sure you do not get swayed by the rat race of getting into north campus and focus on the colleges that you can easily get into. Don't waste your chances by waiting for the upcoming lists as the first four lists get occupied really fast.
Faculty
The faculty was not enough for 100+ students but the available teachers were top notch and very amiable making it very easy to approach them at all times. Some teachers were too full of themselves and hostile like the HOD there and always found a way to criticize the students rather than helping them understand their mistakes better and work on them. The practical teacher for PMP was also very boring and never really made the classrooms alive or interactive. It felt like you're listening to a monologue.
