Course Curriculum Overview

3

Well even with courses being regular, one need to work on their own , cause professors give us hints we follow. The way they make us write an answer is very great for research works though they never really explained how to do that in detail. It would have been better if they could help us from ground level instead of treating us an research student who according to them knows everything. Well vac sec are a break from the main and ge papers but when you have to do all the assignments together it's a headache.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per year wise an average of 13000 for a history student , though it varies from course to course and category to category. There are many scholarship provided by the university( to certain people based on their family income) you need to watch on the notice and admin office for that.

Campus Life

4

There are variety of range clubs and societies to join . Events goes here and there everytime... atleast one event is there in a month aside from the fest prime time. Sports clubs and game are also there like basketball and volleyball even football. I am in the bookclub society and it's really fun as we do author session, bookfest and movie screening. With study curriculum, these kinds of events and fun social gathering are relaxment . And you do get certificates for these which builds your resume

Admission

I got the college from cuet entrance exam , I got it in the first round only though I had thought for North campus college like Stephen but I ended joining my first preference. I waited for second round but it didn't upgraded so I selected this one and my parents also said it's good cause of all girls environment.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty -to-student ratio again varies from department to department. Well in our history department we have a great faculty, since our tic is leaving and with few professors doing transfer, can't say about it now . Though our classes has been regular , with the same faculty. Our TIC has been my favourite faculty she gave such strong sense of empowerment, looking at her one could say yes this is what a professor should look like or teach like....well there was no faculty to hate , we may complain about this or that though but they took their profession very seriously. There are two exams in an yearly ( 2 semester= 1 year ) happening in months of dec-jan & may-jun . If you have studied even few weeks before exam and went to class regularly you could easily ace the exams. There weren't many students you failed , you can count them on one hand , and they were only who didn't came to college regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
