Course Curriculum Overview

4

The MBBS course as always is one of the best course chosen by the students in India . In mbbs we learn about many diseases and how to treat them and then we serve to the society and that gives me the best feeling . The curriculum is related to real-world only The teaching methods may become quite more interactive The difficulty level of exam was good

Internships Opportunities

4

As it is a medical college our compulsory internship was provided in the hospital itself for 1 year after the completetion of 4.5 years course. The stipend provided in the internship is also quite good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fee =6500 rs (Tuition fee = 4500rs Admission fee= 1000 rs Caution money = 1000 rs Semester fee= 4500 rs There are many scholarships like SVMVM( 60000 rupees yearly ) and OASIS (20000 rupees yearly for OBC students) there are no category fees

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest held here named PLASMA in the month of sept-oct Books and journals availability in library was quite good There are well equipped ACs in the lecture theatre and library There are annual sports competition held in the campus also There are many musical bands and research groups and clubs are also present

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The rooms was quite good but you have to buy your own bed and mattress Meal provided in the mess is okayish there are options of also external tiffin system Hostel was provided to almost all students and it's very cheap

Admission

I applied for other medical colleges present in Kolkata like MCK medical college ; NRS medical college; Calcutta national medical college; RG kar medical college; Sskm ipgmer medical college; Burdwan medical college I preferred this college due to its good academic reputation and good cool weather in the city and big campus. Admission process- At first we have to give the NEET-UG exam after passing the class 12 exam Then a decent marks of 600/720 can guarantee your admission Then report to college with required documents and fees.

Faculty

4

The faculty -to- students ratio is quite good and the teachers are approachable too you can ask doubts freely with the teachers anytime by approaching them I love many teachers as they teach very well and friendly also There are semester exams and 1 final proffesional exams yearly Approx 180/200 students pass the exams The course curriculum is according to NMC provided CBME Curriculum

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.

The curriculum spreads over 4.5 years + 1 year of compulsory internship. It includes a total of 19 subjects, these subjects prepare you well for handling patients in real life. AIIMS being an Institute of National Importance, has curated the curriculum very well with lots of focus on practical clinical knowledge. 4.5 years is divided into total 9 semesters and 4 Professional exams. In each exam you have to score more than 50% in each subject to pass. The course academics is very rigid and thorough, so you have to study hard really to come out as a skilled doctor.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is a very prestigious course, which provides you with a degree and license to practise anywhere in the county as a physician, and also opportunities to presure higher post graduate degrees. Faculty student ratio is variable from dept. to dept. ranging from 1:12 to 1:20 Faculties are highly qualified, most of them having MBBS,MD/MS/DNB(in one or multiple subjects)and even PhD. Teaching method is very good, student friendly,AC lecture theatre,Projectors, individual dept. and laboratories, library, examination hall everything is there. Moreover most of the teachers are approachable and available for the students, they are very helpful. Mostly offline classes are conducted. There are 3 semesters and one final university exam in a year, total four exams, almost one in two to three months. Qualifying marks is 50% in both theory and practical, and is a little difficult to pass to be honest, one has to study regularly to pass the exams.
