All you need to know about IIT KGP

Our branch have a very relevant curriculum it starts from the very basic to advance domain knowledge or real world applications. Our curriculum contains variety of subjects from biology to computer science which helps us integrate our learning and make something useful out of it . We have labs in which we are taught how a biosensor works and how to make one . We are getting hands on experience in of doing things in our specialized labs. Ther are two major exams Mid semester and End semester apart from these two exams there are also some tests in between these exams which is a very good way to check that if you are on the right track or not . These tests are quite easy and relevant to that what is being taught in the class.

The placement here in IIT Kharagpur are very good the median package for the year 2023 is around 24 lakh p.a. which is continuously increasing. Students are eligible for placement from there seventh semester. The highest package offered in 2023 is around 2.68 crore. there were 45 international offers and 1600+ offers were made in total. There were around 300 companies that visited . Top recruiters were ITC Ltd. , Goldman sachs , HUL , Amazone , Barclays , KPMG. I can either go for placement or for higher studies I am not sure about it at the moment.

The total hostel fee for a year is around 57710 The total tution fee for a year is around 2 lakh The total fee for one year is around 2.6 lakh In the first year you also have to pay some one time fee this in first year the fee goes to around 3 lakh For UR/EWS/OB-NCL whose income is less than 5 lakhs p.a. ther tution fee reduces to 66 thousand For UR/EWS/OB-NCL whose income is less than 1 lakh p.a. and SC/ST/PWD students they have no tution fee

Overall experience in the campus is superb there are a lot of things going on in the campus. There are many fest organised in the campus. The annual fest is spring fest and the technical fest is kshitij. There is also a fest called illumination organised during Diwali. These is a huge collection of books in the central library books of almost all genres are available in the library . The classroom are fully air conditioned there are wifi router, projector , computer etc. there are electricity sockets below every table . The institute offer a large variety of sports and extracurricular activities. There are facilities for almost every sport ther eare large football and cricket ground many court for volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis etc there is also a olympic size swimming pool and a large ground for athletics. There are lot of society, cell , club which you can join they provide you exposure and work experience they play a very crucial role in your campus

All of the student off IIT Kharagpur stay in hostel. The hostel in IIT Kharagpur provides almost all necessary facilities. In the room there is bed, chair, table , cupboard, lan port , fan . There are water coolers and washing machine . There is also a paid laundry service. The bathroom are very clean and hygienic equipped with geyser. The food in the hostel mess is sometimes not good there are some specific dish which they make very bad apart form those dish the quality fo food is good. The registration process for hostel was quite easy you just have to show the the college allotment letter. If we talk about affordability it is value for money

I got IIT Guwahati till the fourth round of josaa counseling and got IIT Kharagpur in fifth round of counseling I choose IIT Kharagpur over IIT Guwahati as IIT Kharagpur have a better nirf ranking , large campus and very strong alumini network. I got rejected form IIT Roorkee and IIT kanpur. As the closing rank for biotech in these college was less than my rank so I didn't get admission in those college. You can get admission in IIT Kharagpur form various exams if you want admission in UG program then you have to give jee Advance exam and GATE for ther PG program. Cuttof of jee advance for IIT Kharagpur goes evry high as it is one of the finest college in India . Overall admission process after jee advance was very easy most of the work was done online it was very convenient.

The faculty here in IIT Kharagpur are very good all of the professor have a PhD and all of them have written or contributed to many research papers. They are very polite and helpful as well. the student to faculty ratio is 21:1 . The course structure is not very much good as there are many subjects which have almost no use in a specific course still it is there in the course. There are a total of two exams in a semester mid semester and end semester which are quite easy to pass and also there is relative grading in many of the subjects so it is easy to pass if you study properly
