Remarks

Pros: This is a good college for engineering especially if you are active in extracurricular activities. College also has a huge campus. Cons: During placement, you will get all service based companies. If you want to be placed in a product based company you will have to find internship in that company and try to get placed there all by yourself.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As AISSMS COE comes under Pune University it follows the same curriculum as SPPU. There are 8 semesters in 4 years. Each semester has 5-6 subjects. The syllabus is easy to understand and has all the topics necessary to be a computer Engineer. But the syllabus is not detailed and you have to work yourself if you want to learn a subject in depth.

Internships Opportunities

The college has collaboration with Internship providers. But here is no such direct internship program in the college. You have to find the internships for yourself. Most of the internships are not paid.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are decent. The placement percentage is also good. If you are good at your technical skills there will not be any issues while getting placed. Many reputed companies like IBM, Infosys, Barclays and many more come for campus recruitment. The average packages are around 3.5L - 4.5L. But if you are skilled you can also get packages as high as 20L.

Engineering today is a technical event with every department having its own technical competitions. It takes place in September. Ashwamedh is a sports and cultural event. There are many sports and art competitions arranged during Ashwamedh. This event happens in February. Both the events are managed by the students.

Most of the departments have a student club to develop their skills and participate in competitions. College provides types of equipment and labs required for these activities. The labs are also well maintained.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel is ok. The college hostel is a bit far from college. But there is a bus provided by the hostel for transportation. The hostel is not available for those who live in Pune. The hostel infrastructure is also ok.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is active. There are alumni sessions in which alumni give talk about their experiences in the corporate world. They also guide juniors about the things needed in the real work environment. The seniors are also helpful and guide well whenever asked for help. But you have to approach them or coordinate with them when they approach.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
