What Students Say
Likes
- Decent Infrastructure: The classrooms are not the normal square. Pathways are like a maze at first but when you get used to it it is pretty fun to make one spot "your meeting place".
- Networking opportunities: College provides opportunities and have various clubs for better engagement with peers, seniors, mentors and teachers that can be valueable for career advancement and future collaborations.
Dislikes
- Language barrier: Being a Non-Marathi speaker, it is a bit difficult to feel involved at first. Although learning it is in progress and is not a very big issue but still somewhere it is a barrier.
- There are ample of engaging opportunities if you search for it and be involved but if you are not involved or eager in leaning and engaging then you might find it less worthy of being present at any event or groups.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum I chose is BE- ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION. Its a new branch here; started I think Three or Four years back. Since the college follows syllabus according the pune university, and course is same for us, "The first years", everything seems in place. There could be more practical things instead of assignment and the "only the syllabus teaching" things.
Placement Experience
Percentage of getting students placed here is pretty good . A good number of companies visit and hold the recruitments. Irrespective of the college placements, I believe a strong skillset can make you achieve your "DREAM JOBS", and about that skillset , here, there are ample opportunities if you are ready to boost yourself.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearwise fees varies from category to category. Being an OMS(outside Maharashtra student) , my yearly fee structure is same as "open" category students here. Caution money, Softskill money are separately paid. There are various scholarships applicable which are guven to meritorious students and those suffuring from financial issues. Different government and private scholarships are also applicable.
Campus Life
The first big event of the year was "ENGINEERING TODAY" which is held every year for specially the first year students by our seniors and supervised by department heads. It was one great thing happened just in the starting of my college journey. Then I came across various clubs where there are lots and lots of opportunities to earn and explore yourself. Seniors are helpful. Sport events (intercollege and interdepartment) both are there in the ground of our college. College fest os around the corner. A lot of books are available in the library. There is reading hall where you can go and read/do your bookwork.
Admission
I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam. I gave JEE and scored decent enough to fit the remaining 20% JEE based intakes in AISSMS COE. I am interested in the fiend I chose and look forward to explore myself within it.
Faculty
Being a first year right now, the faculty-student interaction is surely more and decent. However there are some teachers who are way too strict about only the attendance and dont take the subject lecture that seriously everytime. And then there are some teachers who teach beyond their subject and guve real insights of the practical and industrial knowledge. Overall the teachers are helpful if you are willing to ask for help.
Night Life
About the night life near college, its a working area (PETH area). There is a food lane just behind the college which is decent. I dont recide near college but some of friends reside just 10 mins away from the college. Metro stop is there which is right in front of the gate of the college and so is bus stand. Train station is 10 mins away from our college. There is free gym in college(for first years) and after first year there is some fine. Some good cafeterias and roaming spots are 15 to 20 mins away from college metro stop via metro.
