Likes

The campus of college is very huge and wonderful. There are many areas in IIT Kharagpur which are very good and it takes time to explore.
The seniors junior interaction is good here.
There are sports classes and cultural socities in college which help us to build our skills.

Dislikes

The mess food is not so tasty and hygienic here.
The campus is in remote town. So I think it causes problems during placements.
The girls to boy ratio is very bad. Some labs have very hecetic circilium.

Course Curriculum Overview

Ya. Course and all the subjects of academics are quite important for core placemts every subject of that department is important. But according to my point of view emphasis should be given to coding and programming courses for non core areas.

Placement Experience

The scene of Placement and internships is too good here. Almost in every department 90 percent students got placed. Here many quant companies, software companies and consultancy companies visited. And avg. And median package of every department is good enough.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to pay 1lacs. As tution fees and 56 thousands as hostel and mess fess. And registration, caution and other compulsory charges all together costs at about 20,000. There are many scholarships here like merit cum means Scholarship which is given by college to eligible candidates. And there are also many private scholarship for iit Kharagpur students and they can get easily by clearing aptitude test or personal interview round. There are fee waivers for students based on their annual family income. SC and ST students have 100 percent fee waiver on tution fees.

Campus Life

Here many fests get take place. Spring fest, kshitij, Shaurya are some of the most popular fests. Spring fest is one of the most wonderful and largest fest of Asia. There are many clubs and tech. Socities here. It helps to develop our personality and skills.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are not too good here. Freshers are provided with triple sharing rooms. In room we got a almirah, bed, fan and table. The room size is not too large. The mess food is not too good. There are problems for vegetarian students here regarding food.

Hostel Fee: INR 56000 per year

Admission

By cracking jee advanced I get into IIT Kharagpur. It is oldest IIT ever and placemts here are too good. I have many options and opportunities here to explore for any field and we have also option for higher studies here. By geeting good CGPA in exams we can apply for any companies here.

Faculty

The interaction between faculty and students is good. The faculty to student ratio is also good. TAs and profs. Both are helpful here.Our CPC prof. Rabibrata Mukherjee is good he explains every concept in depth. But with some profs. the frequency of students doesn't match so can't able to understand some subjects but TAs will help in that subject.

For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management,healthcare,media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting,education,sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. The placement cell of my college is very strong.From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements.There are around 50 companies visited in the college such as TCS,Intel. Microsft. Deloitte,etc.205 students are placed in TCS in year 2019. 415 students are placed in campus placement last year. Maximum CTC was 25 lacs/pa and average CTC was 5.5 lacs/pa previous year.After Jadhavpur University,the average CTC of the college is higher than IEM. Above 95% placements for IT,CSE and ECE students.There are around 55-60% placements in other department.My plans are doing some great things after getting the degree.
