Likes

The infrastructure of the college is okay okay, it's not that bad but not really good.
The teaching faculty is great. There are highly experienced teachers.

Dislikes

The crowd is not much diverse. There is majority of sikh students in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good, especially because it follows the NEP. The teachers are also implementing it good. There are total 7 subjects, 4 of them with 4 credits and 3 of them with 2 credits. There are end sem exams, internal assessment and continuous assessments and the final result is based on it.

Internships Opportunities

The College's placement cell brings internships on a regular basis, bringing opportunities for students across all years to participate in the process and get a corporate experience. Even companies from BIG 4 also offer internships to the students with very food stipends. There is a annual internship fest also where 100+ companies offer internships with a max stipend of 80000.

The College's placement cell brings a lot of placement and internship opportunities for the students. Students after they complete their third year are eligible for placements and students starting from their first year can apply for internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee of my course is 30200. And the fee will remain same throughout the years. There are no details of the tuition fee, admission fee or the registration fee. There are no college provided scholarships but one can avail scholarships that come under University of Delhi.

Campus Life

There are a lot of Societies and NGOs in the college which one can be a part of. These societies add a lot of value in one's personal growth. So anyone taking admission in this college or any college of DU, must join societies based on their interests.

Admission

I applied to a college in my hometown and i got selected there but this college is a lot different from there, the course structure, the exam pattern, the subjects, everything is different. Also this college being a part of DU, is highly recommended. Apart from this i applied to other colleges of DU but i didn't get selected there.

Faculty

The faculty for commerce is good. There a very good experienced teachers who are great at teaching. There are tests and assessments during the semester and then there are end sem exams. There are total 7 subjects in one semester, a student has to pass 50% subjects in one year to get promoted to the next year.

LIFE AS A DU SOL STUDENT

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

Overall College life experience.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4 semester you are eligible to sit into on-campus placements i.e. after completing your second year. Companies start to arrive in final year or pre final year of you're going for 4 year degree. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC and other companies like accenture, zomato, airtel can be seen in placement season. Average package is 4-5 LPA ranging from college to college and depends individual skill set and practical experience. Highest could go upto 22LPA in our college. Half of the students gets placed during the season but not all. After competition of degree students can pursue various courses like CA, CS or praper for CAT/GMAT.

This college is not good enough for upgrading skill and knowledge.

Placement Experience:

SSNC have a placement cell which provides internship details and also shat company hiring details. 3rd and 4th semester students are eligible for internship Highest average package is approx 12 LPA and average price is approx 5LPA and actually I don't know which company give the highest and to whom.

Students get placements in the last semester before the last exams as per my knowledge the average package is 4 to 5 lpa and highest package was 15lpa . Not all the students get placed from the college only the one's with good skills and some experience about the work are chosen.

Dyal Singh College: The Good, The Bad and The Confusing

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

The admission process was quite rigorous. The admission was on the basis of CUET entrance exam conducted at numerous test centres all over India. The application fees is very minimal for the same and most of the syllabus is same what is already covered in class 12 board examinations. Life of an ECA student in SGTB Khalsa College.

The admission process was competitive but smooth. I gave the CUET exam to enroll myself in this college. As I pursued BA(Hons) Economics, Maths was a necessary subject. A total merit of 800 marks was formed, including Language(English) + 3 Domain(Political Science, Maths, Economics). The application form was on the CSAS portal of DU where most of the details were autofilled through CUET portal. Application fees was 250 for general and 100 extra for other quotas. I am currently over an ECA seat, Category- Indian Classical Music(vocal) in which 25% cuet score and 75% ECA score is calculated on the basis of which a seperate merit is formed. I scored 567/800 in CUET and 60/75 in my ECA trials. The original merit for non-quota students was around 740/800. The application process was smooth and 100% online which turned out to be really effortless for both colleges as well as students. But still portal faced issues of error a couple of times due to high traffic....Read More
