Thapar! A lively campus!

Okay. so the relevance is great. they keep changing the subjects after 4-5 years considering their current importance in the corporate sector. The exam patterns are great. The improvement which can be made could be that the exam pattern could be shared beforehand. So that we know what we are preparing for. There are several hackathons and researches that give you a real world experience

I'm not familiar with the internship opportunities as such, but I've seen my seniors get paid and unpaid internships as well. The campus provides a great deal of internships. The roles usually include frontend developers

I'm currently in the second year, so not that familiar with the placement process. But the average package is 11-12 LPA. The students are eligible for internships in 5th semester and eligible for placements in 7th semester.

The fees inflates every year. I paid around 2,70,000 in the first semester. The fees is around this much amount per semester. The fees also varies branch vise, the better branches have more fees. Hostels also cost around 1 lakh per year. And if you get better hostels in second year, it increases. Scholarships are available in two categories- merit and merit cum means. The competition is very high tho for scholarships.

The most hyped up fests are Saturnalia, Thapar food festival and Virsa Mela. Saturnalia is a 3 day tech fest, which also includes a prestigious singer at the 3rd day. We had Mohit Chauhan last year! The thapar library is one to remember! They have digital book catalogs which show where each and every book is. They also have self checkout kiosks. Thapar is very good in sports. A very good sports complex is in the middle of the campus. An annual fest is dedicated entirely to sports which invites other colleges as well. There are so many societies and clubs to choose from! Thapar is a lively place!

The current room is a two seater, has an ac, a balcony and an attached washroom. We have 4 lifts in the hostel. The food is decent, with a varying menu. It doesn't match the home cooked meals but isn't that bad either. Hostel registrations are smooth. Sometimes the hostels are alloted on the basis of CGPA.

I applied to BITS and VIT, and I got into both. But they were very far away from my hometown, hence I didn't want to go so far away. I couldn't get into government colleges. The admission process is smooth. They have 4 rounds of counsellings. And frequent notifications on emails. They accept 50% admissions through boards and 50% through JEE MAIN score. The cutoff keeps changing in every counselling.

The faculties have visiting hours, and they take doubts and everything then. The faculties are very interactive. We have mid semester and end semester exams. And quizzes and lab evaluations in between. There is a certain amount of students who are unable to clear because of attendance, and some because of not scoring.
