Likes

Rooms are big that every room can carry more than 100 students
The campus is so large that it contains 3 sports fields, 5 hostels and 3 building for academic purposes
Students have so many facilities provided by college

Dislikes

College doesn't provide any scholarship.
College don't have any auditorium for cultural program.
Class management is so poor, sometimes classes are choosen to be off by professors

Course Curriculum Overview

Obviously for being affiliated with AICTE and MAKAUT , the college is so strict and disciplined .. MAR points for extra curriculum activities are not negligible it's very important for promotion to next semester.

Placement Experience

4.5

As per record on campus placement is really amazing compared to other colleges being in rural area.. employability is quite impressive. Jalpaiguri is the best college nearby so it is also not bad in its own.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the first semester I paid 13000. Yearly it should be approx 25000. Semester wise, 1. Admission fees- 1000 2.tuition fees- 6000 3.caution fees- 300 4.registation fees- 500 5.develpoment fees- 2200 6.lab fees- 1000 7.library caution deposit -2000 For non technical department it's 7000 per semester just the tuition fees becomes lesser than technical department. No financial support like scholarship is provided by college.

Campus Life

Campus life is not so bad. Although there is no hostel facility for 1st year cause some hostels is still under construction. So hostels are only for girls and 3rd and 4th year students. Ragging is strictly prohibited in this campus..

Admission

I didn't get admission to any college except Cooch Behar Government Engineering College. The admission process there was very smooth, with many helpful teachers guiding us through each step efficiently.

Faculty

College is so strict to their disciplines. Course structure is not so bad. The lab , library facilities are quite impressive. Professors are so humble and student friendly. Exam system is very tough , as it's under MAKAUT so, it's not much easy.

Reality of IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Course Curriculum Overview:

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

NIT DURGAPUR - A Detailed Breakdown

Placement Experience:

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

SURTECH REVIEW

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.
