Pondicherry university : geology department

The course where I have taken admission is pretty good actually. My course focuses on applying it in the real world scenario. The curriculum prepares us very well in every field that the course traverses. They also focuses on practical learning and the practical sensions are taken seriously

Interships are available in diiferent startups as well as research and tech orgs according to the course needs.The department provides refferals for intership opportunities.The stipend is around 7k-10k

The semester students becomes eligible for campus placements only after their final year. There is no companies that comes for offers and placements . The highest package someone has got is 200000 rupees . There are not many students that gets placements.only 20 percent of the students gets placement.

The addmission fees and the first semester fees were paid at the together. And it was a sum of 22000 rupees. The tuition fees are different for odd semesters and even semesters . For odd semesters is 11000 rupees and for even semesters it is 3200 rupees. There are 10 semesters in the course that I have taken admission in . There is a separate exam fees. For each semester it is 500 rupees. The hostel fees is 1000 rupees per semester and there is mess fees and it is 16000 rupees per semester. There is a merit scholarship which is provided by the university regardless of reservation and there are scholarship provided by the state government. The amount of scholarship provided by the state government is 20000 rupees.

Campus has very less restrictions meaning you can go anywhere at anytime without any questions There are 2 sports stadiums and basketball volleyball badminton and tennis court There are many sports competition also all the festivals and fests are celebrated at a grand scale the campus is lush green and very beautiful

Hostel is good and each room is shared between three students which makes it a bit conjusted.There is 24*7 security and no restrictions at all.All the necessary facilities are there but the mess food is not good and the menu is repititive.

I applied in several colleges including BHU, DU , GU , tezpur University and cotton university. Before coming to this university I took admission in another college. But when I got a seat in pondicherry University I left the previous college and took admission here. I preferred this college over the previous one as this one is more better in terms of academics ,social life , campus life etc.and it provides better education according to its fee structure. I got seat in BHU but I didnt go for it because I liked pondicherry University

The no. of faculties present over the total no. students is small. It feels that we need more facilities. The faculties are friendly and approachable. The name of the professor I like the most is Dr Janisar . He is very well educated and friendly and mostly very helpful. The faculty that I dnt like is Dr Suchana. I cannot understand her accent and due to poor communication I cant grasp her teachings.
