Bharathidasan Government College for Women Pondicherry was established in 1968-69 is the first autonomous institution in the Union Territory of Puducherry. The college caters to the needs of women students by offering a wide range of Science, Arts and Commerce courses (i.e.) 16 Under-Graduate, two Post-Graduate and one M. Phil program. The college focus on the Knowledge-based economy, pioneering efforts are being undertaken to exhibit the talents of the students.

There is no entrance exams. The admissions are done by the cut off marks scored by the students in 12th std.Applications are provided in college. College fees is more affordable for all the students. Couselling is held according to cut off marks ofthe students.

There is nothing negative about my college except that the college's infrastructure isn't proper as the chairs and tables aren't sufficient and they're old too and the library needs to be renovated. Apart from that college transport must be arranged for students who come from a very far place. This can even ensure the safety of the students.
