Amit Kumar's Review On Greater Kolkata College Of Engineering & Management - [GKCEM], Baruipur

Personally college is not so good as per money given,its better to opt for other college at the same cost.

I am presently final year student of greater kolkata college of engineering and management located in remote area of baruipur called phultal.I took admision trough west bengal joint entrance exam(WBJEE ) in department of cse. I was very much intrested in computer science so i decided to take this course,admision process was totally online, it started with rank scored in wbjee than a choice filling in with one of my choice was this colleg and i was alloted this college.

Course curriculum was quite intresting starting with first year wich was bit easier and than it beacame tougher,incuding industrial visit,and during projects we were provided speical help from faculty members along with it we had 1 month of special training for campus placement.

There is no provision for internship from our college,its on student if he/she can arrange it for himself/herself so there is meaning stipend, instead non of the student gets oppurtunity for internship from college side.

Placement and job opportunities from this college is not very good but an average,good company are called only on poll campussing and not on campus,so it becomes difficult for students to get placed easily,whatsoever if a student has good command on his/her subject it can be easy to get placed even in pool campussing.

College organises many annual events one of the important is echo which is an annual fest,second one is jis spirt which is a fest of whole jis group, than comes hostel fest namely pulse for the fresher students done only by hostel students,college also organises tech fest,industrial visits,cricket,vollyball,babatminton and other sports competition,and lots more.

Fees structure for entire private colleges in west bengal under wbut is almost same,its bit expensive for average family as its generally from 35000- 45000 per semester, students have to pay the semester fees before the starting of each semester apart from this exam fess has to be paid in each sem which is around 1000.

no such scholarship or loan facilities are provided by the college side,but still there are many students who study on loans provided by diffrent banks, college do only provide bonafied certificate of the student so that student can easily get loans from banks.

lots of extracurricular activities are arranged specially by hostels,robotics competitions are held during the annual tech fest, entire college is filled with bengolies and beharies(st,sc) from bihar.

College has a hostel in its campus itself,rooms in the hostel are quit spacious, rooms are shared between 3 students ,beds,pillows and quilts are provided by college itself there is 24 hour water and electricity supply, food in the mess is average dependi

senior students were very good and helpful,they always helped juniors in every circumstances from matter of studies to orginising any event all juniors and seniors always stood together.

Semester exams happens generally during the month of december and may before theory exams there are practical exams held generally two practical exams are held in a day which is easy to go if studied a bit but the important part is the theory papers of 70

Faculty,mentors lab assustants at this college is quite friendly and helpful,at times strict in few cases,dean is the most strict person of the college.
