Entrance Preview

IIT JEE 2012 I scored 253. IIT Kharagpur is one of the oldest and best IIT. One of my cousin went to this IIT and hence joining IIT KGP was my only dream.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is good. It's not that academically rigorous compared to few other IIT's and hence one get's enough time to One can also take courses outside department in form of breadth course and electives.

Internships Opportunities

I went to Reliance Industries . The stipend offered was 18k+accmodation. It was a learning experience I got to know the practical applications of the things I learnt in college.

Placement Experience

The placement and job opportunites are ample .The average salary may vary from branch to branch.It is higher from departments like computer science and ECE, followed by EE, ME.

College Events

Social and Cultural Fest- Spring Fest IIt Kharagpur, Tech Fest - Kshitij , Asia's largest techno management fest. GES(General Entreprunership Summit)And a lot of Department fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

After recent increment it is around 1.5 L.P.A which is quite feasible and it's always is to get education loans. Compared to the services provided it is very cheap i guess. We get 24 hour internet at good speed what else an engineer wants.

Fees and Financial Aid

MCM(merit cum means ) for those students whose family income is less than 400000.One can apply for loans at Sbi IIT kharagpur which is inside the campus .

Campus Life

There are alot of clubs and societies and general championships bradly divided into three categories sports,social and cultural and tech.each hostel participate and any interested student can represent their respective hostel.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel are getting renovated. Each and every room has a LAN and has a very good wifi connectivity. Each wing has watercooler equipped with water purifiers. Mess food is not so good.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Since students are distributed evenly in all the hostel irrespective of their year, each hostel has a good mix of students from all the departments and batch hence it is to approach anyone for help. Also there are Programs like Alumni mentorship program where one can get an alumni as mentor.

Exam Structure

We have mid terms in middle of semester and End Term at the end of semester.Few labs and class tests in between the semester.

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from 7 and 8 semester also their are many placement on thee intern companies. thier are total of 50 t0 60 companies that visits year which leads to very good placement percentage, in mining its above 90 percent. companies which come are infosys, microsoft, google , coal india, tcs, pwc etc. the higest pacage was 39 lacs by coal india. as mentioned above the placement is very good and almost everybranch placement is between 79 to 95 percentage of student which are placed, their are many mass recruiter if you didnt get the best pacakge you still have the chance to get a good package from the mass recruiter. my plan after degree is to advance in computer science even if i dont have the branch but i have the passion to do coding and become a web developer also i will try to get some more degree like mba and mtech and i will also try if i get selection to study abroad.

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
