Course Curriculum Overview

5

More than the curriculum features I opted this profession because I liked this course and loved this course to study. I tried very hard day and night to get into this profession. Coming on to curriculum we follow CBME curriculum and I like it. We get all the theoretical as well as practical knowledges equally.

Internships Opportunities

5

We do internship in our college itself and we get stipend of almost 28000rs. As I'm second year student I don't have much knowledge about internship things. As I see from my seniors we do internship from our college itself and after internship we always look forward for our PG/MD options.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee reaches almost 25000 which is much low compared to other colleges. I'm qualified for Grants scholarship. But the scholarship never comes at the right time it got delayed by one year. During my two year studies there were not much employments I have to do. The things we done were many camps which were more interesting.

Campus Life

5

Coming on to the library section of my college I can say that my college's got the biggest library with there is a wide range of collection of text books which is new and old and each and every single student over there have access to the text books over there.Adjacent to that there is a journal section in which there is a lot of journals which is so interesting and we have access to and which is useful in community medicine studies also. And there is a small Mini library in which there is a wide range of old books available for us to study , old text books are really interesting which has a lot of elaborate meanings of medical things. And we also have a new reading room in which we can take any text books of ours and go and study. And just opposite to the library there is a small reading area in which we can sit together and read our text books.

Hostel Facilities

5

My hostel life is almost very interesting as there is no boundaries for us for the accommodation in hostel and food etc. We really do have very joyful moments in hostel and we almost have a good bond with our seniors. But there is a small sort of junior senior things. But the interesting thing is that we can bring our vehicles , we can get in anytime we can go out anytime in men's hostel. And the girls hostel is really safe that they have time limitation go out and come in. They have curfews and also there is cameras over there.

Admission

The admission process was not so complicated. I had to fill some forms and seenthe responsible people to submit it. That's all I have to do. But it was not that difficult as there were many people to help us for that over there. I had SC reservation and that was blessing for me because as my parents were I'll I was not able to score good and I was so depressed because it was my dream job. But this reservation was my blessing and I proved that people coming by reservation can achieve MBBS through my scores in MBBS. The general cutoff was almost upto 620 score as I remember.

Faculty

3

In first year the teachers were so interactive with us. I was the first year class representative. As class rep I was able to be so confident in my work and my teachers were so supportive. When I came to second year I found out that the teachers were more strict but still they tried very hard to teach us and to get our attendance.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
