Course Curriculum Overview

3

If the student is quite serious to go for a PHD after completing his MSc from here, I would say it is a great choice but if one is looking for the option to explore some other field after completing his MSc from here, I wouldn't recommend of getting a degree from here.

Fees and Financial Aid

First of all let me make it clear this is a science college and only science subjects are taught in here so there is only two degrees, i.e BSc(Hons.) and MSc on multiple science subjects are available in here. The bachelors' program is government aided so it nearly costs as much as a bachelors degree from any government college in West Bengal but on the other hand the cost for the masters' degree is very high compared to the government colleges in West Bengal.

Campus Life

3.5

To describe one's student life inside the campus of RKMVCC is something is somewhat meaningful. If education is something which moulds one's life discipline is something that shapes one's personality and discipline is something one is going to learn from his campus life in RKMVCC Besides education there are numerous celebrations like the birth ceremony of Swamiji, Thakur Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maa Sarada, a bounty of seminars other events like sports, music and debate competitions are also prominent.

Admission

This is a Boys college so only male students are given addmission and one is eligible to apply for MSc Mathematics and Computing if he obtains a mean percentage of 50% up to the first 5 semesters of one's BSc in mathematics with almost 30 seats on offer and reservation of seats for the OBC, SC and ST as per as the government norms. The application is to be made online in the official website of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, www.rkmvccrahara.org and is available from the first week of July every year. There is no admission test and is purely based on the marks obtained at the bachelors' level.

Faculty

3.5

To be honest, the faculties members I faced during my masters were all pretty different kind on their own. There were quite impressive professors with the likes of Dr. D.K Ganguly, although a guest faculty, he is like the star of the department whereas there were others not as impressive. However, all of them are quite available inorder to interact with the students and are quite willing to help them in times of need.

Other Applied Colleges

St. Xavier's College - [SXC] | Bachelor of Education [B.Ed]

The cost of education was too high

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.
