They have taken admission tests, The application forms are given on the website. https://www.rkmvccrahara.org Reservation benefits are also there. The admission test is quite difficult, Class tests and exams are timely taken. Website UI can be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview

Courses are quite relevant and in standard with the current system. The courses more or less lie within the syllabus of the competitive exams and the courses prepare the students well for the exams. Some computational courses are required for the upskilling of the students.

Internships Opportunities

Although I haven't been engaged in any company internships, but my juniors and some of my batchmates have been engaged in some internships. The college authority motivates students to participate in internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships for those who are eligible. Financial aids like railway concessions are given. The total cost of the education fkr 3 years is almost Rs. 58000. Tution fees are not increased within the period of our study.

Campus Life

There is only a gymnasium and indoor gaming facility available, apart from that there is no other clubs and groups. There are annual festivals and prize giving ceremonies. Also sports competitions are held.

Faculty

Faculty: Students ratio 1:4 Student-Teacher interaction is always feasible and encouraged. Faculties are always eager to solve students' problems and mentor them for their academic and personal development. Doubt clearing sessions are held after every class.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.

This is a Boys college so only male students are given addmission and one is eligible to apply for MSc Mathematics and Computing if he obtains a mean percentage of 50% up to the first 5 semesters of one's BSc in mathematics with almost 30 seats on offer and reservation of seats for the OBC, SC and ST as per as the government norms. RKMVCC - A Place to build students.

Rkmvcc has ranked 8th in the 2019 NIRF college ranking. And 10th in 2020 NIRF ranking. And not only that it even is bearing the tag of Centre For Potential Excellence of the govt of India. Talking about the faculty, as I'm in botany dept I am definitely gonna tell you the dept is absolutely great. With great teachers, and supporting and student-friendly college authority. Even the college provides research facilities in botany and all I can say It has the best botany dept in eastern India. Actually this college selects students through entrance examination exception was only in 2020 due to covid crisis. Now my guidance to other students will be if you want to persue a career in general science, and especially in life sciences, chemistry then Rkmvcc, will be a great place as it's politics-free and has great intent to build students.
