Remarks

College management can sometimes give a hard time with attendance issues. The faculty is very supportive. The management too is good when it comes to instilling discipline but can sometimes be a little harsh.

Entrance Preview

Because it was ideally located in Bangalore and high rankings in college database websites. The campus of Christ is very neat, green and clean. However, the Bannerghatta campus is not very big. The faculty of the college also sets it apart. The people who graduate from here generally become independently in very few years after graduation. Moreover, they have good student exchange program opportunities for extra exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum became strategically designed by 2nd year. The first semester was basic but the second semester jumped right into advertising. The course curriculum became pretty interesting towards the end because it dealt with semiotics, digital media and all which is more relevant to modern media.

Internships Opportunities

Our college does not provide internships. Students can do internships from elsewhere. Internships is mandatory for some courses.

Placement Experience

2.5

Quite a few companies come for placements but they aren't very course specific. A lot of companies come for commerce and IT placements but there are fewer opportunities for bachelor's of arts. One can still apply for non campus placement with decent marks.

College Events

4.5

There are a lot of events celebrated in the college. There are not only intra college fests but also inter departmental and inter college fests. They are vibrant and of different kinds. Some are cultural while some are more academic in nature. Some festivals are for underprivileged children as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for courses conducted in Christ vary from course to course. BA courses are not very expensive. They are below Rs70000/ year. Commerce courses are moderately expensive. Professional courses, master degree courses and law courses are comparatively expensive yet affordable

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does have provision for underprivileged students. It also has CSA that sponsors children. The students get scholarships on the basis of their post academic and all round performance.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio varies from course to course. The girls participate in sports as well but they don't go for inter college competitions much. The ratio does not differ much in competitions other than quizzing that is heavily dominated by male students.

Hostel Facilities

1

The hostel facilities of the college aren't very attractive. The Bannerghatta campus does not have hostel facility for female students. The hostels do not have gyms like other colleges. The security is quite strict. Generally students prefer to stay in PGs

Alumni/Alumna

The college collected alumni information compulsorily. The alumni network is helpful when it comes to placements.

Exam Structure

The semester commences with CIA 1 which holds 20 marks per subject. This is reduced to half. This is followed by CIA 2 which is again reduced to half. The mid semester exam is CIA 3 which consists of 50 marks which is reduced to 25. End semester exam accounts for 50 marks and attendance for 5 25+10+10+5+50 = 100 marks in total

Admission

I had to apply by filling an elaborate application form. You also need to send in hard copies even if you're filling the online application form for verification. This followed by Dates of interview which are given within a week or two. The interview lasted for maximum 10-15 minutes. The results were declared that night itself and the admission process began the day after that.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is really young and equipped. They use a lot of multimedia tools and videos especially to enable better comprehension. They can relate well with the students and that is helpful is drawing relatable example for better understanding of subject matter. They can keep up with trends and technology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- curriculum specially for BA is not like how you see in other universities it's a comprehensive curriculum where your also studying subject like AI learning, data analysis, regional languages and so much more it is a comprehensive course which is not only focusing on your major but also on an overall development of you as a student.. - well we are not only getting in-class lectures but we also have a internal component of internship every year which helps us get an experience of real world situations and job market. -There is one course called numbers we have that could be improved it basically talks about mathematical in economic applications numerical implications particularly which has not been given more thought on it could be more elaborated and structured well. - frequency is high and difficulty is moderate usually.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.
