Course Curriculum Overview

5

Maths Hons. had many papers like Mathematical finance, Probability and statistics, LaTex, Multivariate calculus, etc. This course offered not only calculations but also helped in understanding the concepts. It gives you good knowledge for further skills like data science, programming, and statistics, etc. The exams are moderate to difficult level. More career-oriented papers should be introduced in the curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

5

The college annually provides DS Kothari Research Centre internships for all science students and also conducts department wise exams for various other scholarships. These reasearch projects are published in the annual magazines of the university and sometimes are forwarded to the various civil authorities for the implementation of good governance.

Placement Experience

5

Students are eligible for placements from 5th semester. The placement cell of college conducts job fair every year and also they have a portal on college website from where you can apply. Various companies come to the college and take interviews of students and also the students have options of giving interview to many recruiters. Apart from this there are many seminars conducted by the college and courses for the students to enhance their skills for the corporate sector . Students get package upto 10 LPA from 3LPA. 70 % of students get placed as remaining ones have plans for further studies and research. I'm preparing for the defence forces after the graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Coming to the overall course fee for three years it is 60 K. There isn't much hike in the prices as Delhi University is a central university and is affordable. But looking at education fees for three years including food, accommodation, travel, expenses, and course fees, it was 5 L. There are many scholarships offered by the college for students like Ved jolly etc and also they have awards every year which have cash prizes. Many students benefit from the Inspire scholarship too. I was in NCC so didn't have much time for jobs but took research internships and participated in competitions which gave me 2 to 4K.

Campus Life

5

From January to April, the college has various amazing fests. There are so many societies and clubs like NCC, NSS, Tula, Environment Cell, etc. The annual fest of Miranda House is Tempest which is amazing and too much fun. Only Miranda girls are allowed in this fest rest are open to other students also. The Library is really big and has various facilities like computer labs, banking services, a special lab for visually impaired students, etc. The books are also up to date. You can find books from every department and interest there. The college good sports and extracurricular activities environment and conducts various workshops for the same.

Admission

The admission Process was very smooth as I was enrolled on a merit basis in 2020 on board marks. For my admission, the cutoff was 94 %. The university opens applications through the CSAS portal every year in May or June. The administration staff is very cordial. I didn't take any reservations. I was enrolled in the general category. Now there isn't any separate exam, everyone has to take CUET for admission and then fill out the DU form. The university should guide students more on selecting preferences in the application process and also help them with accommodation by increasing hostel seats.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is really amazing and well experienced. They are very friendly and helpful you a lot in exploring new opportunities not even just in India but also worldwide. Every week they conduct meetings to have social interaction with students and have leisure time together. In studies also they are very considerate.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
