Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is well structured into 4-5 subjects each in a total of 5 semesters. We get to learn from basic to advanced level of Japanese in real time by the end of this course. The study material being used is a bit old ..it would be better if it gets renewed.

Placement Experience

4

For my course campus placement are offered from 3rd year and onwards. Companies like Accenture, Google ,Amazon etc hire our students. Average package 4-5 lakh per annum...higher ones go to around 14 lakhs too.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course and hostel fee is pretty low considering the facilities. We have a no. Of scholarships offered by the Japanese government or Japanese foundation that comes to campus ..we just need to be worthy of the same.

Campus Life

4

Japanese event kizuna is held every year. A no.of protests also take place. Student election was recently conducted. The library is full of easily accessible books the only com is that some books are too old and meant only for research students.

Hostel Facilities

3

Room, bed table and chair is provided in hostels ...based on how old the hostel is the quality of hostel room varies. Meal is fairly fine as compared to other universities. I have no idea about pg or housing nera the campus.hostels are quite enough.

Admission

The university accepts both immediate 12th passouts and also gap year students based on merit in the cute exam. There are certain reservations in every course but limited seats. Too many exams ..which is good but tiring.

Faculty

4

The faculty student ratio is pretty good...we are a class of 35 students on an average and we are taught by atleast 2-3 professors and a few phd scholars. Faculty is pretty approachable and we can easily discuss our issues with them.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
