Review of St Xavier's Collegiate School

Intially I applied for Techno India, but when I got listed in the merit list for SXC, it was a dream come true, since getting into Xavier's was my goal. I did not avail for any ST/SC/OBC quota but I believe my Roman Catholic background was a contributing factor in my admission. The cut-off marks for my course was around 95%, but for Arts programmes, English was the required subject for admission evaluation. The admission process was very official and we had to do all the process on our own without our parents help, to groom us in an independent way. This college is outstanding in the matter of teaching and discipline. This is a completely ragging free college. If any student is found to flout any rule he/she will be immediately suspended. Obviously, you will prefer this college over any others in Kolkata due to the sheer legacy and prestige you will get if you get a chance to join this esteemed college. The admission process was based on a strict merit basis. They took into consideration the best of 4 subjects obtained in hs exam and apart from that you needed to have maths as a subject in +2 level. If you speak about bad aspects then maybe some student from non English medium may find it a little bit difficult since the mode of teaching is English.
